I had the same surgery but my tumor was so big that it caused a cross eye condition (double vision) that lasted for six months. After that no problem.

 

To avoid landing on a tailwind condition I always check for a lower GPS ground speed than the indicated airspeed. Very helpful when landing at night at uncontrolled airfields with short runways.

Mark, glad to hear you are back flying. I have a friends that went through the same surgery. He is doing well too.
