As it has been doing for most of the summer here in Denver, it's raining again. Not the short kind of shower to which we're accustomed, but a long, steady rain.

In response to this, the FAA has issued a new flight rules designation for the state of Colorado: MFR. It stands for "More F**king Rain."

I swear that when the Seahawks beat us in the Super Bowl they cursed us with their weather.

I work out at DIA. The FAA now mandates that when it rains, we issue NOTAMS for wet surfaces. It's just more busy work.

That's crazy. Gotta love the US Gov't. Not.

Sounds like you'll have your hands full when the snow flies. What then? "NOTAM: Runway may look whiter than usual and may be a bit slipperier too."

You need to tell the rain to come over to the west side of the Continental Divide...we need it.  Flew up to Stockton on Sunday and there was no snow whatsoever on the peaks in the Sierra Nevadas....not typical and not good.

When I was based in DEN with Frontier I told my friends that the DEN weather sucked! It still does! It always will !  :-)  :-)

Go south to Lake Powell. It's a lot better here  :-)

What are you talking about? It is raining right now!

Yesterday we used the pool... cannot remember the last time we did this in September here. Usually it is way too cold. Was at 80 degrees... something is going on... maybe that global warming is going to help us poor Canadians with a bit more heat? But last winter the electricity bill was way up.

Did anyone notice that this year and last, the hurricanes were kind of limited in the Atlantic compared to previous years? Something is going on!

During every snow event, we have to update the surface NOTAMS as we clean them. It's not uncommon for a runway or taxiway to have a new NOTAM 1-2 times an hour. How does a pilot keep up with that?

I like your NOTAM Joe, maybe I'll try that next time.

Well  maybe NORBERT will give most of the SW some water hopefully in a managed way so as not to cause other problems.

Has anyone recently paid attention to all the NOTAMs issued today with a standard weather report?   It is absurd I’ll glance through them but read them it would be faster to drive than fly.

Ya know...I really think it is climate change.

Careful posting that picture.  Next thing you know someone will post a picture of Al Gore and say climate change again.  Then someone will say Obamaphone.  Then someone will call some fellow Mooney pilot a terrorist.  Then someone will get upset.

Now back to the regularly scheduled program.
