Anyone have any experience with getting installed or editing/customizing the checklist file on the G1000 for an Ovation2 ?

(Mine doesn't have it installed - Would like to if I could make it useable)

Thanks

Joe once you download this app to the sd card, then what are we to do to set up a checklist within our G-1000??

The file name has to be specific to your aircraft.  I believe mine is M20R_Ovation2GX.ace .  If you have that file on your SD card with the proper name make sure it is in the top MFD slot upon startup and the G1000 will read it into memory.  It is read each time from the SD card so if the card is not in the slot you will not be able to use it and if you insert it after boot up it will not read, at least on mine.

The ACE editor is pretty simple and you can be learned it in a little bit of time.  There are choices to make things a notation, a checkbox, etc.  I have a pre-start checklist and of course a run-up check list and emergency procedures.  You can make more files too and call them checklist.  For example I have a entry that is a series of notes presented like a checklist but it shows throttle, MP, airspeeds, etc.

I rarely use paper checklist with the onboard list.

The app goes on your Windows computer, and you use it to create the checklist file(s), which go to the aircraft via the SD card. Txbyker's post above gives more details.

I might give it a try myself.
