Geoff Posted December 30, 2013 Report Posted December 30, 2013 Any suggestions for quality avionics shops in Texas? Quote
M20F-1968 Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Give Erik at McKee Aviation in San Marcos a call. His is able to do anything you would need whether it be installation or repair. Brian Kendrick is also working out of that same shop (former Mooney Factory Service Manager). John Breda Quote
rainman Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 John Miller at Crystal Avionics in New Braunfels did my upgrade. Very good work, good customer service. Quote
BigTex Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Where in Texas to do you live? There's a great shop in Conroe as well as several in the DFW area Quote
jamesm Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 I have used Avionics Unlimited in Conroe TX to fix my Narco AT150 transponder that had very rare and unusual tray alignment problem. I think the guys name was John he knew exactly what the the problem and was able to fix another problem with pre-amp. Cost less the $100 to fix it and they bench tested and yellow tagged for me. it was sent back to me reasonably quick. I thought it was very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again even know I am up in the Northwest. You may want call them first I tried googling them and google came up with goofy results at least on first page. Geoff Posted December 31, 2013 Author Report Posted December 31, 2013 Plane lives in San Antonio but I am open to Houston or Central Texas. Looking to do a complete panel rework. Quote
markejackson02 Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Solapp in Sugarland (near Houston) did an Aspen/430W in my old plane, did great job on time and on budget. Quote
N33GG Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 John Miller at Crystal Avionics in New Braunfels did my upgrade. Very good work, good customer service. +1 Crystal Avionics has a LOT of Mooney experience, and can do the job right. They did my new panel, and I was very pleased. John Miller is a good guy to work with. Quote
