  1. That is a shame. I know one thing that many bi-fold hangar door tenants don't do is latch the center post. That is a critical component in securing those doors for high winds. Those sliders like I had on my old hangar often would start swaying in the breeze if the lower track was weak. And I have seen some where there is no lower track, just the upper one.
  2. Just to chime in on EI's support for reconfiguring units. They are pretty reasonably priced to do conversions (like RPM zone warnings). I think I paid $60 to have them do a conversion on my RPM gauge.
  3. Don, why did you post this?
  4. I think the mechanics will chime in shortly but I think they will need to be waterproof (at least that is what Terry and I did).I can't remember if we used knife disconnects or straight butt connectors. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/elpages/knifedisc.php
  5. Andrew -- I don't recall what Craig's username is (he owns the site), but I would reach out to him to see what his plans are for GDPR compliance. I suspect like many U.S. based sites, the GDPR requirements are going to be problematic leading to many site operators to terminate European access to avoid dealing with implementing the privacy requirements. I'm dealing with them now and GDPR requires a bit of work to ensure compliance. I'm hoping Craig has a plan so that what you encountered with the linked website won't happen to MooneySpace.
  6. That’s the marked up version Powertow sells. I should have said “affordable” replacement. It is actually the transmission off of a snowblower. Fortunately it can be repaired through parts but I haven’t found new ones other than what Powertow sells. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  7. I already own one of these units and the weak link is the transmission. You’re right that popping a new carburetor, heck, even putting a new engine on it would be easy. Finding a replacement for the transmission on it is a different story. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. That’s great Brian, but don’t you think it’s odd to come to a forum, ask for help and then drop off the grid? A simple, a found some help would have sufficed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Replacing surface mount components can be problematic especially if the board has been damaged. It looks like there was a small overheat/melting on that component. That may have damaged the trace making the replacement difficult if not impossible. Even if you can find the component, not sure how you plan on attaching it. Chances are the board was wave soldered. I will see if any of the EEs I know can tell us what component this is. Have you looked at the cost for buying a replacement PCB? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  10. I am interested in selling a bridge. Never sold one online but would like to know if someone might be interested. The bridge is located in Brooklyn. George C. Parker https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_C._Parker Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  11. PM me your contact information and we can work out the meet location and time. I’ll be the big ugly in the F350 Diesel. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Give us some idea what it is mounted on and a picture of the assembly that holds it. Could be any number of diodes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  13. To add to the conspiracy theory. Now that Boeing’s market value has dropped $28B, how much of a price increase do you expect on your FF and Jepp products? [emoji38] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  14. There may always be a degree or two difference due to limitations in accuracy. I believe most vintage Mooneys have Scott Air Model 2716A stuck in the plexiglass of the side window. These are not adjustable. I don’t know much about your in panel OAT but if it is electronic, there may be a calibration mechanism. I don’t recall seeing any calibration area in the JPI software. There is an adjustment for MAP but I don’t recall seeing one for OAT. Have you confirmed which one is accurate? Maybe the temp is really 3° and both are off 3°. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  15. I have an STEC 60-2 with autotrim. When I disconnect I don’t find the elevator sticks. I suspect that either your trim/pitch servo is sticking. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  17. One and the same. He does gets some of us hook in mouth when they do that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Tom - wow! Really sorry to read about this. I used to laugh when I thought about the times my mother would drag out the bottle of Lysol to “clean” out a wound on me. She was a nurse in the war zone of Europe during WWII. And would always say if you didn’t take steps to thoroughly clean a wound, you were asking for trouble. It’s amazing to read that such a small wound would result in what you had to deal with. Mommas are always right... Speedy recovery! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  20. Yes indeed. Another owner had this same issue last week. I will try to find the thread for you. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  21. I’m so happy to see Peter Garmin is back! We missed you bro! I guess you got tired of waiting outside of the BK warehouse. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  22. I’m on a business trip through Friday. Will need to get it this weekend. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  23. I’ll take it if it is in running condition. I’m based at N57 and will drive out to Lancaster to pick it up. Any issues with the transmission? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  24. What helps with the negotiations (I didn’t need to negotiate) was to take pictures of what I upgraded with approximate value and asked if I needed to share them. They didn’t need to see them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  25. I put the hull value at what I have in it and close to a decent market price. You want to be able to insure with enough hull to avoid having them total it and you get pennies on the dollar of any upgrades you did. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
