  1. look up mass loaded vinyl sound proofing. I used a reinforced MLV around my hangar door and works pretty well. You can get 10 to 15 foot lengths that is 3' to 4' wide for around $150+/- Cut a long strip and screw it to the front and back of the door and let it puff out about 1" and this should seal the door pretty well even better if you put on on each door.
  2. talking about oil cooler lines, fuel lines? try precision hose technology. You will need to give them size, type of hose, length and fittings https://www.aircrafthose.com/
  3. Hopefully they can get them down safely.
  4. agreed but don't they have screws holding the windshield and windows in?
  5. If you need to build time and you are the safety pilot log the time. If you have plenty of time log if you want or don't log it. Either way it doesn't make much of a difference .
  6. y'all STC folks don't go gett'n you panties in a wad
  7. Besides this is a faring so the owner can repair it under preventive maintenance.
  8. WOT, 2550RPM, LOP but I do have fuel injection so lean as much as you can.
  9. I know some who will only use Shell 100. I have used Phillips almost exclusively, 20-50 and 100 usually whatever is cheaper, since becoming a plane owner. Just my opinion but I feel any motor oil would work fine in our engines. Yes there are certain specs for the oil. I would love to have the resources to run a test with multiple different oils just to see what would happen.
  10. generally if you can make it in 3 to 4 hours with the Mooney you can beat the airlines or be awfully close. Non stop airline flights are generally hard to be time wise. This is being close to a medium to large international airport. If you are flying out of a regional airport beating the airlines is easier.
  11. thin film of adhesive silicone
  12. quart of mineral spirits and a rag, works wonders
  13. Contact Seth at PAP he might be able to help you. https://pap2fly.com/
  14. I'm still confused why we are using ICAO form domestic flights?
  15. See the 2x8 blocks, all screwed together, under the wheel along with a chock block on each end. That way I can have the plane jacked up without being on jacks the whole time when working under the plane.
  16. I have one and used it for annual this year. Very nice especially when removing inspection covers out by the wing tips. I have spacer blocks I put the wheels on to give ma an additional 4.5" clearance under the belly and it works fine.
  17. >I have progressive lenses and no issues.
  18. curious how do you to attempt to stop an oil leak on case without split?
  19. years ago I did toilet paper from a C150, not sure how well I did it was only one pass over a remote area.
  20. Looks great. I do have a question why is your AI and DG are not centered like a normal 6 pack?
  21. Glad that didn't lead to fuel starvation.
  22. job is not too bad, now WORK is another story altogether.
  23. I just bought the aero creeper really nice. It is the manual one not the electric on but is adjusts nicely as you go to the wing tips removing screws. Also I made some blocks from 3 pieces of 2x8 lumber stacked and screwed together with a wheel chock on each end. I put the plane on the jacks and then let it sit on the blocks while working under the plane. This gives me an additional 4.5" of clearance under the plane and it makes a huge difference.
  24. Except for local fun flights I usually am talking to ATC most of the time IFR sometimes flight following.
  25. First sounds like it is at the wing tip. My non IA opinion would be to work with your mechanic and patch it. Yes a new skin is the ideal fix but if a doubler patch is structurally sound, done in accordance with good maintenance techniques and passes inspection by an IA go for it. You can always get it reskinned later.
