  1. This morning I walked out to pick up the newspaper at about 5:30. There was a good size hole in the clouds and the stars were bright. As I gazed at Ursa Major I noticed a fairly bright “star” to the northwest moving eastward. Then in trail about 5 seconds apart there were 5 more. I suspected they were military as they were heading towards Whidbey Naval Airstation but lights didn’t flash and was just one steady bright white light. I was considering making a report to MUFON but googled instead and am now sure it was a string of Elon Musks Skylink satellites. Very impressive sight.
  2. I can’t figure out what state you’re in from your profile
  3. There could be a good reason for no painting. At our hangars one owner’s insurance recently had to pay to fix overspray damage to several aircraft and vintage autos in adjacent hangars. They are not airtight or overspray tight.
  4. My Slick mags have 440 hours since new. I just ordered a Surefly for the left side and new Slick for the right, to be installed in April at annual.
  5. From CDC publication: (We keep our hot tub at 106F and properly chlorinated ) Can MRSA be spread at recreational water facilities? MRSA does not survive long in pools and other treated swimming places (for example, hot tubs/spas) that have proper disinfectant (chlorine) and pH levels. There have been no reports of MRSA spreading through contact with recreational water.
  6. I’m going to spend more time in the hot tub
  7. Washington’s governor just announced statewide “stay at home” order, except for “essential services”. Under transportation Recreational aviation seems to be exempted Aviation includes aircraft, air traffic control systems, and airports, heliports, and landing strips. Commercial aviation services at civil and joint-use military airports, heliports, and sea plane bases. In addition, the aviation mode includes commercial and recreational aircraft (manned and unmanned) and a wide-variety of support services, such as aircraft repair stations, fueling facilities, navigation aids, and flight schools.
  8. Since GPS navigators the only time I look at the magnetic compass is while taxiing and because it’s on the checklist. I would like to permanently remove it. I have to remove it to take the glare shield out
  9. They’re supposed to be sent back to the factory every 1000 hours. I had exactly the same symptoms a few years ago. MSC returned them to Precise flight. Problem solved
  10. No National Guard troops arresting those defying the Governor’s edict?
  11. Keep 30-40 lbs in the baggage compartment (tools, oil, emergency bag, etc.) Landings will be better an cruise speed will increase with the more aft CG.
  12. Can we not use an off the shelf Plane Power or Zeftronics voltage regulator? I have an intermittent alternator issue. A&P now recommending replacing both alternator and voltage regulator I read the other threads and you have previously answered my question. I apologize
  13. I tried using PS Express to rotate it but still posted sideways. Thank you for the help
  14. I’ll sell you mine. Transmit function stopped working. Stir receives
  15. Just registered for the May clinic Looking forward to flying with y’all
  16. I first thought 1051K in the thread title meant the cost of the panel upgrade was $105,100. I see now that is your tail number. How far off was I on the cost?
  17. @LANCECASPER you need to fly up to the Pacific Northwest an fill in some of the states on your places flown to map
  18. I just about broke even on a similar flight. $1.00 cheaper than my home airport. 55.6 gallons
  19. My annual is coming up in April. Currently the Slick mags have 442 hours since new. I flew 120 hours in the past 12 months. 500 hour inspection will fall about half way through the flying year. I am leaning toward replacing one mag with Surefly. Should I do it this annual or wait until next year?

  23. Did you determine how to remove the vacuum gauge? I want to replace mine. It has been placcarded that it reads .75 inches low. The dial face rotates so I don’t know what it truly indicates
  24. I logged on to the new website with no problems ( even though I’m sure I didn’t renew my membership when the notice came in the mail a few months ago). Read the two latest MAPA logs and saw a notice for a photo contest. I emailed a photo to Peggy and got a reply back in about 10 minutes ( on a Saturday). I’ll go ahead and send my membership fees for another year.
  25. Or $700 (including sales tax) if it’s 24 volt. I just bought one from Aircraft Spruce.
