  1. Missile launcher. Yup. That’s what it is. Must be. Right.
  2. If they want to and have the knowledge and tools. Can probably even get the part from Car Quest or NAPA
  3. My bad. I assumed when you said they are "in the works" that you actually meant they were actively doing something about it and not just "planning" to do something about it. Because it has said the same thing almost a year ago.
  4. umm. Where did you get that information?
  5. Well now that you say that, I have no idea. Just doesn't look like fabric I've seen and don't know what aluminized dope looks like.
  6. It's said that for a year now. I talked to someone and said they might be interested in my plane, but to contact them next year
  7. If you look back through my posts, I uploaded some photo's of when my M20A's wing was redone in 1997. Even though it is wood, it is covered in sheet metal.
  8. My dual G5’s are setup to the master. Looks like the 275’s would be as well, otherwise you won’t have the backup capability (I think). from Garmin: DUAL ADVANTAGES With dual GI 275 displays3 as your primary flight instrumentation, reversionary backup capability retains attitude and heading data4 on the remaining HSI or MFD if an outage should occur.
  9. When I had an older GPS I had to use Jep. When I upgraded to a 375 when I asked them why they cost so much more than Garmin they told me that they have to pay a fee to Garmin. And that their data is more accurate. Therefore safer. After that load of crap I switched to Garmin. I'm sure they have their purpose but I've never used their approach charts, so no loss for me there.
  10. Spoken like a true pilot
  11. I wouldn't count on that at all. Get a quote first. I'm at 300+ hours 150 in type with ifr and I'm at 4amu's for 69k.
  12. I picked up one of these the other day for $599.99 28 mile range and I've seen mine up to about 17-18mph. https://www.costco.com/segway-ninebot-es3-kickscooter-with-dual-battery.product.100498363.html Little bigger than I had hoped and have to take the handle bar off unless my back seat is empty to put it in. The most disappointing thing I found out is how many places have laws against them. Some of the stupid ones I've come across are can't be used in certain area of towns, no sidewalks, streets under a certain MPH such as only under roads of 35 or less. Zero alcohol tolerance when riding them. Helmet law's in some places. Oh, and the hefty fine that can come with breaking any law on the books. So do your research on the town you are visiting before you inadvertently break a law.
  13. What values are you trying to get? I think most of that data is already provided for you on the G5's.
  14. Since it hasn't been mentioned. Since you are going the CFI route. Just remember that you can't rent out and instruct in your plane unless you are also doing 100 hours on it. My biggest recommendation is check insurance rates first!!!! Also, did I catch that right that you are spending $80k for an M20B?
  15. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-36953g?seid=srese1&gclid=CjwKCAjwkJj6BRA-EiwA0ZVPVjklnMNNzqN53B81LLwOh9sTinPiEl_j-o86bHHza-pAN2R72PyC8hoCYDgQAvD_BwE
  16. A little Mooney altitude adjustment should fix that for you.
  17. Connects via Bluetooth. I use it with Foreflight and it works great. FWIW I have the 375
  18. Any examples or know what some problems are? I have the 375 and a 155. I haven't noticed anything strange in the 40+ hours I've flown it since install. Also my shop didn't say anything so this is the first I've heard of it.
  19. Looks like there are 66 M20A's and 97 M20B's for a total of 163 registered in the USA. No idea how many are setup for this. But I do know of 1 M20A. Mine
  20. I would like to agree with you. But doesn't look like Garmin does since they are currently working on C, D, E, F, G. No love for M20, A, B
  21. Almost none of my tailbeacon flights showed up for tracking. Almost all of my GNX375 flights do show up. FWIW
  22. https://www.faa.gov/nextgen/programs/adsb/faq/#g5 Can I get a one-time deviation from the requirement? The ADS-B Out rule allows a mechanism for pilots/operators without ADS-B Out equipment installed to request ATC authorization to deviate from the rule to access ADS-B Out rule airspace. The FAA published a policy in 2019 with guidance on how controllers will handle these aircraft. The policy is clear that unequipped aircraft cannot expect uninterrupted access to ADS-B airspace. The FAA continues to work on the implementation of this policy and authorization request mechanism. The FAA encourages owners to equip as soon as possible to capture the benefits of ADS-B and to ensure they will be able to access all available airspace once the mandate becomes effective in 2020. ****somewhere on that page**** The ADS-B Out rule does not apply in the airspace defined in items 2 and 4 above for any aircraft not originally certificated with an electrical system or that has not subsequently been certified with such a system installed, including balloons and gliders. For additional requirements for using the exception for item 4, please refer to CFR 91.225 section (d) for the requirements.
  23. Thanks for that. I thought non-electric system airplanes were exempt. But if you have an electric system you were only supposed to use it once.
  24. @MikeOH Did you run those tests initially once it was installed and saw that they passed? Or has it not been configured properly from the start?
  25. I thought they only wanted someone to use it once? Either to get it into (to then install) or out of the ADSB required airspace?
