  1. Thanks for all of the help. Turns out it's not a cracked case but was leaking from where the bolt mounts the generator. So some how the two halves aren't pairing up like they used to. Now to see how that all pans out
  2. Since I'm asking about an O-360-A1A I figured I would check and make sure. From what I'm seeing on the internet the F should have an IO-360-A1A. So I'm just guessing that your HIO-360 case won't work for my engine.
  3. Yes I would but only because garmin dropped my plane for approval. But as per the first post. My 1959 M20A probably isn’t in the group to be certified so still hosed because I’m not spending 30k for an STEC.
  4. So does narrow body = 7/16 =1200 TBO and wide body =1/2= 2000 TBO or can you have 1/2" with the narrow body when the top was done? Asking because I did the top and wasn't aware of 1200 or this issue. So maybe the mechanic put in 1/2 (if possible) and I just don't know it.
  5. Seriously? I was told it was 2000 TBO
  6. I think original 1959. 1900 ish hours with a total rebuild 1/2 way through but couldn’t ever figure out why other than a used hour meter was changed and it had more hours closer to 2k.
  7. Eghhhhhh. mid time engine. Two years ago put a whole new top on it. ;(
  8. Oil leaking up front. Thought it was a crank seal. Replaced and got oil on my windshield during flight. Only leaks with high RPM. He said he called a shop and once he said the generator mount was broken and replaced. He was then told it was cracked. Once it gets back to the shop he will borescope it. Any ideas on what this all might cost?
  9. Anyone have any leads on a case for my M20A if I need to get one? I'm assuming its usually replaced but I have no idea. Do they ever fix those?
  10. I think this is the case for all professions this day and age. People on the internet are more prone to complaining about a problem then pointing out where something was done great or was provided above and beyond service.
  11. Have you considered getting a high performance, larger one? That's the route my guy wanted to go so no idea if anybody else has already tried that. I guess I will know soon enough if it did the trick or not.
  12. So this brings up the question. Are you all locking that back door when in flight or leaving it unlocked? I read somewhere to lock it to help ensure it stays shut. But then it's even trickier to open from the inside. Or does the kit address that? Asking since my 59' doesn't have anything.
  13. It's so you can light up your turn when on the taxi way! /end sarcasm/attempt at being funny Having both on would be much more helpful!
  14. My G5 probe is in the left cowl. Other than a little hot at ground/run ups. Can't say I've noticed anything off while in flight.
  15. I've got a 59 O-360 and there is no way the Lycoming adapter would have fit into that already crammed space. So far, really enjoy my Airwolfe and it makes the oil changes super easy.
  16. For that price, I'll take one of each! Does that come with the hardware shown in the first picture? If not, what needs to be ordered?
  17. Can anyone explain or point me int he direction of the reasons to replace these? Other than peace of mind? Thanks!
  18. What's the ETA on these? Any idea? Just looking of a rough idea. Spring, Summer, Fall?
  19. However the FAA is as slow as cold tar yet we all have to wait for them. Really disappointing but you already know that!
  20. It's okay. Not like anybody needs a PFD anyways (end sarcasm)
  21. Downloads section. POH Mine looks like that, just the year is wrong. Mine is a 59 and that says 1960. Don't remember any other discrepancies.
  22. Makes you wonder if they have a boat payment that is due.
  23. If they picked the lock to get into the plane. Then that second lock won't slow them down either. But it looks intimidating.
  24. 1 pump throttle - leave all the way out mixture in fuel pump on ignition key clear prop master on start advance throttle as soon as it kicks over (this helps ensure a nice smooth start and keeps the engine from jumping/racing and keeps passengers happy) So far has worked like a charm!
