  3. http://static.garmin.com/pumac/190-02207-a2_02.pdf
  4. Garmin pilot on : samsung s10+, stays in my pocket. Samsung s6 on yoke : plates, nav, etc.. IPad Mini 5 attached to glareshield : traffic, weather
  5. I run gp on both the IPad mini 5 and a samsung s6, to be honest except for the new visual arrival and departures, I think the android version is better. to me it just feels the control and screen layout is better. shrug...
  6. Received the mail notice thursday completed registration via web thursday night Received renewed registration yesterday, Tuesday. Like 3 business days
  7. I know, not a Mooney but hey I'm current till September 8). was actually quite fun, I was surprised how hard it is to hold GS in one of these things. Also Garmin PIlot updated to version 10, adding graphical Arrival/Departures. Today's been a good day.
  8. hey anyone have a quote for the GI275 install cost and time, can't get a straight answer from anyone. Can't imagine it taking more than a couple of days. Baker? Jesse?
  9. I have a few also
  10. No, along with the wing leveler, birdy has a brittain Accu???? autopilot.
  11. Just wondering, lets say trutrak and the gfc500 never materialize for my "E", what is the best way to get altitude hold? after adding a bit of electrical tape, the thing is tracking like it's on rails but not having an altitude hold is tiring. so what are my options ? also, hasn't adsb day passed, when are the damn avionics shops going to open up?
  12. there is absolutely no reason you need to run them at 100% power. actually 100% power doesn't make sense even for airplane engines, an io360 can spin faster than 2700 rpm and make MORE power while doing it. might not last as long but hey whatever 100% is just a rating. rate the auto engine 100% @ 3000rpm or 3500rpm whatever
  13. Or wait for it, Add forced induction. that same ls3/lt4/v6 can be made to do the same or better numbers at those lower rpms with a turbo. probably while running 89 octane, ethanol gas
  14. I'm really thinking of installing 1 or 2 of the 275's. adi and hsi, they just seem to make sense. now for the adi, i can't see a reason why i would ever remove my pitot/static instruments anyway. just doesn't make sense. synvis is a huge help in the planes i've flown, not because i used it to evade terrain but really just because of the extra cues while ifr. just seems more "comfortable?" than the standard blue/brown look. If i'm not mistaken, the gi-275 may have more screen area then a g5, they aren't overly large.
  15. I want an optima yellow top as a second battery, think i can get a 337 for that ?
  16. love the 747, my dream job would be as a 747 UPS/Fedex Pilot.
  17. mount the watch permanently to the panel, should be good.
  18. while driving my car today, i noticed it's at 1613 hrs. I was instantly terrified about the prospect of an overhaul in a few hundred hours. oh yeah that's only 40k miles. My belief, with proper engineering, and i do say proper, an auto engine could be successful. who's willing to pay for it
  19. So after months and months of hand flying due to the Brittain taking a dump and Trutrak/Garmin failing to step up, i finally broke down and started troubleshooting my AP. first the hoses under the dash, no leaks but replaced anyway. red and green hoses, no leaks. rear red servo, 2 holes, someone had tried fixing with rtv sealant. picked off the sealant, applied scotch 33+ electrical tape and BAMM, fully functional Brittain Autopilot. thing stopped rolling, holds heading, follows the magenta and green lines. if i had Altitude hold, think i'd be set. now, question, how hard would it be to just find replacement rubber for the servos ? looks to be very thin < 1/32 rubber, maybe inner-tube material.
  20. hmm, i wonder if it'll work with the Brittain, looks to have the necessary left/right.
  21. thanks for taking one for the team 8)
  22. Maybe an LT4 would be better to start, bit more expensive but the dyno is crazy. no need for a reduction unit, actually you might have too much hp at prop speeds
  23. no, but i bet it would do 200 hp at 3000 rpm for literally forever. bah, month is easy, car used to sit at the airport for 2 to 3 mos at a time. yeah, things change, well except for airplane engines 8)
