  1. Depends on what phase. Highly recommended a MAPA PPP all the info you need. They don’t permit republish so here is what you will get but can’t share numbers—sorry.
  2. If Garmin u will see box with “R” on right. Means it’s receiving. Call ATC as “can you please verify you are getting my transponder data. “
  3. Now is best time to replace any old defrost hoses. They look amazingly accessible. Not so much soon.
  4. Make sure the headset plug is long enough. Why not install inverted under the arm rests or old ashtray spot.
  5. Mine came with but if I had to guess, u need PTT switch from and yoke cover from Alan, standard shielded wire, pins, solder tubes, and diagram for your intercom.
  6. Cram climb clean clean communicate. Another cool 1 is add TRACK on to end of 5 T’s. So 6 T’s.
  7. FD operates with and without AP engaged. Press ToGo button before TO, FD is engaged and will give you command Chevron for preprogrammed pitch specific to your model, FD will provide guidance to the route in NAV FP without engaging AP.
  8. No affiliation whatsoever. This is from Aviation Consumer mag survey
  9. Done Cold? Warm? What was differential?
  10. So then what is the no where near the labor then, the point he made to a new owner? His point @201er was that the plane is already up in the air and nose wheel is coming off at annual anyway SO changing a tire and tube then IS easy and not much extra work at all then. And I agree.
  11. Really? It’s like 3 nuts torqued to around 7 ft.lb. and takes less than 5 minutes to split. Get a bead breaker make quick work.

  13. Bogert one works well, heavier but 2 handles and won’t slip out.
  14. Best portable option. No issues with 1 battery. Took awhile to get after ordering though. Maybe a month. Only regret was not getting it sooner.
  15. Wow that fast. Great info.
  16. Thank You! He said that J cruises at 135k something like that. More like 157k. He shaved off 25kts. Believe he said the owner cruises at that speed, If he’s trying to stretch fuel then ok, but if he’s flying it how it wants he/she should be seeing 150kts, or something isn’t right in that IO360. maybe he wants to make his sling seem faster than a J. But he should have said that the J cruises faster then his Sling’s Vne. Kinda puts it all in perspective. Would love to see Mike produce a REAL 201 video. Not someone who clearly knew little about Mooney.
  17. Mechanic should have sent you a pic. Was he any more specific? Maybe a pic. You didn’t notice any leaks, so is a seep? Dripping on floor? Your SM does go thru procedure to isolate source AND repair.
  18. Not sure with bladders, but without them, since you are in a hanger. I would not keep full, at most up to 25 mark. Your Disks will thank me, and no corrosion issues. Filling up before each flight even better assuming you have at least 10 in each. Not saying run nearly dry then wait til next flight to fill. I thought they were kinda pricey at 90$. Now they are 140$ Run a dehumidifier in the hanger too. In summer in pulls gallon of water out of the air each day.
  19. That’s it in a nutshell. Stop the meds. Get homeopathic equivalent if needed, and it’s no longer an issue.
  20. Show them the values from Jimmy. He’s kinda an expert in valuation.
  21. Was plane flown to an MSC for estimate? Get an estimate from one if not. Also start renting a plane and submit costs as part of your claim. See if that moves financial needle.
  22. Seems sufficient to pop more than a few panels and search for corrosion. Did they break it down? Are you SOL? Not so fast. I don’t buy that you need to tell the expert what he/she should inspect on ppi. But buyers think a ppi is an extensive and comprehensive inspection and it’s NOT. The only question is—Would the corrosion have been found by a REASONABLE A&P given the same time constraints of 17 hours? Call a shop or ask local A&P and ask what would you inspect for a ppi with a limit of 17 hours.
  23. Not unless it’s on the glare shield touching your Compass. Just put it on Px floor, a small ceramic heater with tip over protection works just fine. It warms up cabin to very comfortable temp in 10-15 min. Run a cord thru pilot window with some foam to fill around cord.
  24. Clarence does the added weight and drag have any wear effect on engine components?
  25. Full day of class and full day of flying. You will learn a lot. I attended Springfield Mass, walked out with great knowledge and confidence. Also some of the best Maple syrup (Came in our goodie bag). I plan to attend Reading. 3 of the many good topic they go over flying by the numbers - power settings simplified expected performance- based on MP and RPM what should you be getting in all phases etc… maintenance
