  1. Man, it's worth it. I can't imagine having a turbo without it. I really thought it was standard on the k
  2. Nah, they can't be increasing because I already own my shares. Nothing increases AFTER I buy it.
  3. Looks like this. Photo in the first post. Your F probably doesn't have. The J/K does.
  4. Gotcha, the skyox mentioned above is probably as good as any. I'm not sure what the weight savings is on a light weight tank but I'm betting not enough to justify the cost. I want to say ours is 120cuft, it lasts for months, literally
  5. It's outlined in the poh. Find a copy online. The system is electrical and would not be impacted by the engine unless the battery was exhausted.
  6. No on board o2? I thought all the 231 came with o2, or do you need a new on board tank? Ours is a bigger than stock, I think skyox. They're not cheap!
  7. we have verizon and it's $10 a month to add the tablet to our existing data pool
  8. Thanks! Like I said if ap central sent me there I'm sure they're good, just curious
  9. Just wondered if anyone had used them. Autopilots central sent me their way so I have already sent our AI to them. Just curious since I don't see a lot about them on the web, they've been around a long time.
  10. I give people the link to my spot. It's more consistent.
  11. BS aside, I would be wary of canceling the charges for fear of a mechanics lien against the airplane. Does it work about the same on planes as it does cars?
  12. Thanks, As it stands now the flight to GGG doesn't line up particularly well with my schedule, ie it leaves at like 10am and means an overnight at dfw, not the end of the world. no rental cars available, it's right after the 4th amtrak could be OK I'm not a nice person our plane is in GGG this is all just what if, but also nice to know for annual time too.
  13. Beats me. Our plane just went in for some work and it might be there longer than expected, so I'm just forming plan B just in case. It's just much cheaper to fly SWA into DAL than AAL into GGG.
  14. Unrelated, but if I had to get into ggg to pick up a plane, what's the best way? Can I commercial into Dallas and get over there or just suck it up and fly into ggg?
  15. Rats, wish it was a 12v. Is it selectable from 24 to 12?
  16. I think it's really easy full, less so if you leave the plane with half-ish tanks like us, even less so if the wing gauges may not be accurate. To me 50 gallons total is 2.5 hours best case. That's how we keep the tanks, at 50. I wish we had a totalizer, with such high burn in climb it doesn't take much of an error to be off a significant amount.
  17. it's been 10 years since I did customs routinely, but canpass was always cake compared to getting back in.
  18. lets see, my current airplane is 40 years old, I don't think I can make it another 40 to get one of these used
  19. I used a 2x4 as a guide and a roller with that rustoleum stuff, seemed to work well, we'll see if it holds up
  20. Thanks, I figured tape would let the paint bleed under it since the surface isn't smooth.
  21. kind of a dumb question, but I need to repaint the stripes we use to line the tires up getting back in the hangar. Airport ops doesn't do it and ours are all but gone. I was planning to just take some cardboard and use it to mask along the edges and spray it with yellow or white spray paint, but maybe there's a better way?
  22. Thanks, I remember reading your writeup on the issue and that is what prompted me to have the spring replaced and the housing cleaned out and checked. Plane is going to maxwell in a couple weeks for something else, I'll see if he can clean that orifice
  23. LB engine. For awhile we've had low oil pressure when the oil is hot, especially at idle. Today it was on the bottom peg at idle after a flight. We run aeroshell 100. The adjustment is up about as far as it can go on the relief spring/housing. We have replaced the spring and had the housing/orifice cleaned. At start up it goes to the top of the green and then decreases as it warms. At cruise power it's maybe 1/3rd into the green. We only have the original indicator, no digital, our EI doesn't do that or isn't hooked up. Any ideas? Mechanic doesn't think he can hook up an external gauge to test it, said there's no transducer to worry about failing as it's just a line to the indicator itself. I think we're at a dead end and just operationally don't idle below 1k rpm when warm to keep the pressure up or operate as normal and assume the indication is just off on the 10 cent gauge and hope for the best.
