  1. This is what ours did. Eventually it fell over in flight. Less than 1amu at Porter straight in Tulsa for overhaul. My understanding is vac pumps let go suddenly and don't degrade. Short of a broken or cracked line I'd say your ai is due for work.
  2. You can trade one for the other but excess hp is your climb, at its root that's the most basic.

  8. There's a lot of that going on around here. There's also a lot of regurgitation of things people heard about turbos going on. I think it's funny after the lengthy thread complaining about people saying mooneys are small (they are) based on what people heard about them. Then we turn around and do just about the same thing a few threads later.
  9. So, $1200 a cylinder plus labor. Big deal. The irony being we have trouble with everything BUT the turbo and engine in ours.
  10. That's approximately 75 percent power depending on the charts and the temp drop across the intercooler. I don't have temp issues at those settings. Flaps closed runs 380ish a d trailing runs closer to 330. I plan 190 true. I plan 14gph and run closer to 13. I lean to keep my tit around 1500-1525. I don't run lop.

  12. Sure. Come on up to Colorado mid summer and we'll see, Glenwood springs might be fun on a hot day. At fl180 you have probably 155hp. I still have 210....
  13. Nah, wouldn't really fit my mission and no one would insure me in the damn thing. The new eclipse looks sweet with auto throttles but the care and upkeep would probably be a lot even if I could afford the plane. And the insurance again. Now a tbm 850.....
  14. A lot of airplanes can get to 180. The point of the turbo is the rate at which you climb to 180 and your tas at altitude. I'd imagine the climb time and airspeed make it not worthwhile too often.
  15. Interested, but how is he making these? If he's 3d printing I'd be surprised if they're better than what is already available.
  16. I like to cruise high. If the leg is long enough to justify it I go 170, 180 or 190 pretty much every flight, but I also cross the Rockies almost every flight and the mvas are 14 to 16k If our plane had tks it would be perfect.
