  1. I have not lost a rocker screw since switching to silicone gaskets. -Matt
  2. I’ve seen aeroshell 15/50 and Phillips 20W-50 look like that often. If you don’t run a Turbo or fly in icy cold environments, I would use a straight weight oil... -Matt
  3. Just a piece of electrical tape on the wing where you can see it. -Matt
  4. I’ve installed a vertical piece (6in or so) of black electrical tape on the wing to act as an indicator in the past. You really can’t see the ice if the wing is white. I think I learned that from someone on this site. Thought it would be worth mentioning again. -Matt
  5. Hi Oscar, some one took the time to do cam locks on the doghouse. That’s neat. I did see some air gaps/daylight in your doghouse. I believe the doghouse helps cooling and the baffles were a lazy way to improve access to the top of the engine. I noticed your lower baffle rod was rubbing on your oil drain back lines. I’ve replaced mine a few times due to this reason. Also noticed the gaps around the alternator. I have zero cooling issues on my E and have flown it in AZ on 110° days. -Matt
  6. Check the fuel spider too. That’s a good spot for debris to settle -Matt
  7. It’s in the AIM to monitor guard. Most Airlines still monitor. http://code7700.com/communications_elt.htm -Matt
  8. Citation gear doors rub really bad. I like the fiberglass Teflon tape for that application. However, molded silicone door seals sound great! -Matt
  9. A good guy here on Mooneyspace. He has his own salvage business. he might have a gear door for you. Yours is pretty neat up. @alan fox -Matt
  10. Can anyone with a B comment on the dual exhaust noise? I would love to have a nice 4-1 system with a collector, but the Paperwork and noise are a factor. -Matt
  11. Garmin makes a handy dual USB power cord I use for a 496. I can charge 2 other devices with out noise. -Matt
  12. I put mine together 300hrs ago. I would do another one if I had the time. Find an IA that needs an airplane maybe. Make a deal. -Matt
  13. Makes me want to buy a skate board! -Matt
  14. An An365 is the nut. Not a bolt. some of the older hardware doesn’t have the goldish cad plating we are used to seeing. It was more of a nickel cad back then. Need a pic of the bolt you are describing. Circle the bolt in question -Matt
  15. I have a T182T that does the same thing. Changed the Pads, no more noise. Your Pads might be getting thin. In my case it only made noises when pushing it into the hangar. similar double puck break designs. -Matt
  16. If you have a burnt out tip position light you could still legally fly with just the tail position light. Whelen just released another self contained strobe/nav for the tail. That’s one reason I’d like to install the aft wingtip nav light with the tip strobes. Double redundancy in case my belly strobe or single nav lamp goes out. -Matt
  17. You have a really clean airplane Dude! -Matt
  18. I really like the 760 I have at work. I still have a 469 mounted up in the Mooney with Xm weather and tunes. It’s great! I don’t own an iPad mount. -Matt
  19. The new bose a20’s seem like they are trying too hard or using bad parts. I've had several and units fail. I maintain about 14 a20s for work. Along with cheap failing ear pieces has been my experience. The barrels of the mic jacks has changed slightly too. Some airplanes have a feedback from the mic and other headsets work fine. Music and blue tooth options are awesome with the Bose. They also pinch my head and are hard to keep in position. Overall they are very quiet. I really like the Bose X I fly with in the Mooney. I installed the Oregon aero seals and noise blocking foam. They are still really loud but the most comfortable. Other than lack of music options, the old Dave Clark’s are great too. Most are surprised how quiet they still are. Their support is the absolute best! My Co-workers swears by his Clarityaloft and old DCs. -Matt
  20. Not at all, never. There is no requirement to use your home address. -Matt
  21. 100% Their App on the phone is awesome!! great shipping too. -Matt
  22. Then there is this: https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2021-03-04/us-government-indicts-aircraft-title-trust-company-owner -Matt
  23. Or get smart and keep your home address off your registration. ;-) -Matt
  24. Morning! Michelin leak stop tubes. Goodyear Flight custom 3’s. Or Flight special 2’s. Depending on your budget. Check the ply aircraft spruce is tricky locating the correct ply. No need to replace the tube if you can track it’s age. I still have a 10y old tube on my airplane. Left main will wear first due to the torque of the engine. Nothing to do with landings. -Matt
  25. If your jacks points have a wide mouth/lip, The edge may hit the wing and dimple the skin due to the more aggressive angle. If you jack both, the angle is better and the jack won’t hit the wing. Just depends on the set up. Myers Jack’s will touch the wing if you are not careful. -Matt
