  1. Mine is a 67C and has a doghouse. Maybe production cut in of baffles happened mid year or something Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. My cover extends forward of the windshield sufficiently to cover the avionics access panels. If it leaks there then yes, it will drip down on your avionics boxes and unto the carpet. Not good at all. Does your cover extend forward of the windshield? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Let Craig have a chance to look at the data and he can then get a cost to import it to Mooneyspace. Once we know the cost we can open a donation campaign to make it happen if reasonable. It would be a shame to lose that data. Would a mite dethrone a J in terms of fuel efficiency? If so, I might pay the whole bill just to bring the Mite owners here to rag on the J owners Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Good idea. Let’s preserve that information and add it to Mooneyspace. It will be a good resource if someone needs it in the future. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. I carry a PTT in my plane. I’ve had the integral PTT fail in flight and it’s a pain in the rear to plug in to the copilot side and have to use the PTT in that yoke. Carry it in case you need it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. When you are flying through rain you are not applying water under pressure in the wheel well areas nor the landing gear nor many of the other places where there is grease or cavities where water can pool. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. LOW pressure hose is fine. Key word LOW. I don’t particularly like washing my plane with a hose. I do it once a year when I come back from my Florida Keys vacation and the airplane has been sitting outside for a couple of weeks. I wash it then with a hose just to make sure I get any salt residue off the airplane. The rest of the year my plane is hangared and I do clean it regularly with a spray bottle with a mixture of water and NO rinse Wash & Shine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. My plane power conversion came with a yellow light too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. That is one pretty F. Love the paint scheme Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Anyone know what the core value is on these? I have one that was removed from my brother in laws plane a month ago because it was precessing badly (he replaced it with a G5). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. When I first posted about this accident I strongly suspected a fuel issue because the engine appeared to be running great, then it just quit with no roughness or any other signs of trouble. I decided not to post my opinion given that I had just seen the accident and it was pure speculation on my part at that point. I’m just glad the two made it out with nothing but a few scrapes Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Had my C to 16500. Took a while but she got there and she could have gone higher but I had enough. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Just saw what looked like a J go down during take off. Heard the engine quit. Looks like they did a good job of getting the plane down inside airport property. Landed straight ahead in the bushes. Both refused medical attention so it appears there were no injuries. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I recently purchased the Stratus ESG but have not installed it yet. I’m hoping it is a reliable unit. Almost went with a Garmin box but my buddy is a Stratus dealer and he got me a great deal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Congratulations! She is purty Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Good tip and thanks for posting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. One way to fix this is to mimic what other websites do. If you post something in the “for sale” section, not commentary is allowed regarding the value of the item. You could go one step further and allow no commentary of any kind. All communication must be direct with seller. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Wow, that Mooney is just plain beautiful. Not sure why you would spend that kind of money completely restoring an E then sell it. I would think something unforeseen must have happened? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Pledge! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Exactly. I’m on the same boat. My C has an aging Brittain AP that is working but who knows for how long. This is an affordable solution that adds more capability than I currently have. The installer in Florida is near my home and for 7.5K all in it’s hard to beat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Just to be clear, TT will not disengage at 700 feet. In fact, it will continue the approach to the runway numbers. It is, however, not “legal” for you to use it below 700. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Flew with my brother in law to Oshkosh this year in his Cherokee 6. I was wearing my Zulu 3’s and he a set of Bose A20’s. I needed to buy another headset for a spare and we swapped headsets in flight so I could try the A20’s. Without a question, the ANR in the Bose headset was noticeably better that the Zulu’s. Both of us clearly noted the difference. I did not notice much of a difference in comfort level but was sold with how much quieter the Bose headset was. Bought one for the return trip! Still love my Zulu 3’s but I have to give a clear edge to the A20’s Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. IMHP, I would not spend the cash to purchase and install a second 430W. Replace the old Nav/com with an SL30 and call it a day. If you really want another GPS then I would probably go for a 530w and let your existing 430w become the backup. The 530 is not going to be that much more than the 430 and the installation between the two is awash. At least with a 530 you will gain something Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. 25-30 hours for me. Oil and filter. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. This is the procedure recommended by Savvy for a fuel injected engine. I would think it should work for both but have never tried it in my C. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
