  1. Yvesg, I should be off that week. Definitely let me know if you are coming this way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. If it ever got that cold here in Florida we would not know what to do and we would just die. Winter in Florida is the best time to fly!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Crazing which is essentially micro cracking of the acrylic. The vast majority is on the surface typically most of it no more that .010 inch deep. UV exposure and certain chemicals can accelerate the process. Micromesh kit can be used to remove damage but if you don’t know what you are doing you will end up with optical distortion caused by abrupt change in thickness. Not sure it is even worth attempting on our windscreen. Better off plan to get it replaced when it becomes annoying. No real safety issue here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Just finished my annual a couple of weeks ago. My 67C has 1300 hours on a factory remanufactured engine but showed poor compression on #3 and an obvious exhaust leak. Borescope showed a badly burned valve. My IA indicated I had an induction leak in #3 which probably resulted in running lean. Interestingly enough I did not notice any signs of an induction leak. No popping sounds at idle or anything obvious. Cylinder replaced. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Took my 67C to 16,500 once just to see if it could. It was still climbing but slow going. I believe it would have made it to 18000. My best speeds are between 7-9k and it's where I typically cruise but climb to 10-12 occasionally if advantageous for whatever reason. I think we should know what are individual airplanes are able to do. Although there are certain differences between every C, engine condition probably pays a large role on how high you can climb Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Correct, Phil not Paul. It’s what 3 hours of sleep does to you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. You might consider Paul Jimenez (PJ). Well known Mooney Guru in Avon Park (central Florida). Very reasonable prices. Let me know if you need his number. Might consider combining the pre purchase inspection with an annual and just fly the plane to Avon Park, a short hop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Congratulation. You are now a Mooniac! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. The sealant is all around the entire tank. Filling it half full is enough to provide a heat sink for all the sheet metal in the tank Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. The data plate on my 67C is over the door too. I thought that was where the factory put it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. First time I've had to leave early from the summit. A northeaster in northeast Florida threatened to ground me in Panama City for a couple of days. Had no choice but to leave early Sunday so I could get back to Jacksonville. Disappointed that I did not get to hear the Sunday presentation. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Just remember the scout does not have a GPS so you will need an IPad with cellular chip to make it work. The GX60 does not have the ability to load STARs and DPs so you will definitely need Foreflight to help with that. However, it does just fine with GPS approaches that do not require vertical guidance. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. My 67C starts every time with 3 pumps of the throttle if cold and two if hot. Fuel pump on, wait for pressure to stabilize then pump throttle 3 times and turn fuel pump off. Turn key and she fires within 2 blades every time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Lost electrical power around 1:30 this morning. Wind and rain pretty bad and numerous flashes from transformers blowing. By sunrise most of he state of Florida will be without power. I'll be setting up my generator soon and when conditions make it possible will fly to Miami to check on my mother and sister. Lost contact with them yesterday as the phone Iined are down too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Eye right over Marco Island. I know we have at least one Mooneyspacer based there. Hope everyone is doing ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. [quote Went flying and after an hour I noticed my voltage was getting low. Went from 14.0v on takeoff down to 9.5v by the time I landed. I tried to start it and the battery was dead. I swear I cannot catch a break. I'm hoping its just the voltage regulator. Alex, do you have an alternator or a generator. If a generator and it's going bad I have one you can have. 17. I'm in for FHB as well Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. No problem Alex. I'll make other arrangements if you can't do it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I do not cover or plug my plane in my hangar. My hangar does not leak and I have not seen any bugs or critters in it. The airport keeps them well maintained. I have a nice cover that it's always in the plane and use it when I travel and the plane sits outside overnight. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Never been there. Would love to go but I may be in annual inspection. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Me too. It would be nice to show up to Mooney gatherings and actually know someone's name. I've been here for years and know a few of you but many of you I only know by your handle. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. When? Have not heard anything about it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I've had those plugs for over two years I think now. Not one incident of fouling in that time and she runs smooth. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. My JPI in my 67C is pretty darn accurate (with 1 gallon after 4.5 hours of flight). I have never run a tank dry but have used 24 gallons on one side and it was still running (level flight). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Ok. I Let's check on the rain in the morning and see if we can make it to Williston by noon. I'll give Nick a call see if he wants to join us. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
