At those prices, my Minister of Finance would had me executed... That is a lot for installation.

 

I think that $12K includes the 60-2 equipment, paperwork and recertification, not just labor. I guess it also includes the 30's trade in value. I think the choice to wait and to live with the 30 for awhile is wise.

12k buys a lot of fuel

12k / number of ILS approaches down to the minimum = $$$$

12k buys a fair amount of cab rides or hotel rooms if you ever had to divert.
