Marauder Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Hi Amelia. I saw your other thread. I would call the Mooney Service Centers to see if they can locate one for you. I have dealt with Henry Weber in Lancaster, PA, Lasar in California and Willmar in Minnesota. If they can't locate one, see if anyone is allowed to rebuild the one you have. Some of these parts can be built if they are approved. This may be one of them. I'm surprised that you have as much corrosion on your mount as you do (for the time the engine has been on it). If it was already showing signs of rust back then, I would have expected the shop to have dealt with it then. Do you live near an ocean?

N601RX Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 There a couple on ebay. One is lycoming, one is large continental, not sure about the 3rd one. It's possible you might save some labor if you could find a replacement and swap them out. You might be able to do it without completely unhooking everything.

N601RX Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Kosola replaced a couple of tubes on mine and added the gussets to get rid of the AD for the previous owner. The bill was around $1K.

AndyFromCB Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Another option is Aerospace Welding in MN. For a M20K, the might even have one in stock as long as you trade in a core. They did the work on my mount, 4 tubes replaced for $1200. I think a complete mount "overhaul" (basically building one from scratch but considered an overhaul because of the core) will be to a tune of $3K. http://www.awi-ami.com/ Give Charlie a call, great guy.
