Camping at the "airplanes only" campground. Walk into the historic town of Columbia. Well attended by the public. A wonderful opportunity to talk up Mooney and General Aviation. mjc Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 This is already on my calendar and has been for some time, but it appears that the Gathering of Mooneys has been set for that weekend as well. It was my favorite fly-in of all the ones I attended last year, though that was mostly because it was also the only one my wife and daughter were able to attend with me. What does it mean that there's going to be a Mooney Ambassador display? Will that be over on the flightline, or in the camping area? Will the Gathering of Mooneys be moved (might be a tough sell to the family to attend two fly-ins in one weekend)? Quote
mooneygirl Posted February 3, 2010 Author Report Posted February 3, 2010 Hi Michael Let's see....Columbia...we have space for two airplanes on the display ramp. We have asked Mooney if they would like to bring an Acclaim/O3. And then we would have space on the display ramp for another Mooney. As you know from last year, other parking will be available to folks in the camping area and such. We are free to park as a group in the other areas, but the two on formal display will be the "working" airplanes, in terms of showing to the public etc. I think your second question is the Gathering of Mooneys in Tahoe? The Gathering is scheduled for June 19th. It is not an Ambassador event. This is a plain old-fashioned fly in. A celebration of our ability to fly to a lovely area. This is open to ALL Mooney pilots. The schedule looks to be a morning snack, presentations, a complimentary lunch, music, socialization and fun. Hope to see you there! Come one come all. Let's fly those great airplanes!
