mooneygirl Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 Friday night, October 12th, Mooney Drivers Dinner. Location to be determined. Let me know if you would like to attend. Should be a fun night talking smack about airplanes made out of plastic. Saturday noon: CalPilots Meet and Greet California Dreamin' at the Interactive Lounge on Exhibit Hall Central. Munchies, photo ops, fun activities. Help Us, Help You: Join Cal Pilots. http://youtu.be/qIoLXdUlj9Y Weather should be nice. Hope to see lots of our Mooney Family there. Mitch and I will be working the Calpilots booth and Flying Eyes booth on Friday.
PilotDerek Posted October 9, 2012 Report Posted October 9, 2012 I'll be at the summit all week. I would be interested in attending.
DaV8or Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 My plan is to fly down Thursday and attend the Summit Friday and Saturday. At this point it looks like Thursday is the worst possible day to fly down there. If I do make it, Friday night might be out because I'll be with others that won't want to hang out with a bunch of Mooniacs. Although, who knows? Would like to stop in and say Hi to foks though at some point.
mooneygirl Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 There will be some Cessna pilots with us on Friday. Honorary Mooney folks. HA. Should be fun for all, not Mooney specific, just fun.
BigTex Posted October 10, 2012 Report Posted October 10, 2012 I was just watching the parade of planes and they made reference that AOPA is is working hard to use their convention as a time to also host various aircraft owners groups. They made a point of saying that they'll have aircraft specific tracks for the groups that's using this time for their annual convention. They mentioned Beech, Grumman as two that's teaming with AOPA and I'm sure there's more. It might be something worth thinking about for next years MAPA conference.
PilotDerek Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 I was at the parade of planes. Really cool. I was a little sad that there was no mooney's in the procession, but after driving the route in my truck I would not have taxied it in my mooney. I think a few of them had to been holding there breath on some of the dips and bumps.
mooneygirl Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 When Mitch and I went to AOPA at Palm Springs, must have been 4 years ago, an Acclaim was in the Parade of Planes. But I agree with you....those dips in the road don't look friendly. We will be there with our Mooney pride and are scheduled to do some filming with AOPA regarding our documentary, Boots on the Ground: the Men and Women who made Mooney. Friday night dinner, Saturday noon Meet and Greet. Come see us!
mooneygirl Posted October 12, 2012 Author Report Posted October 12, 2012 Here are the details for the Mooney dinner: Friday at 7:30 p.m. At LULU California Bistro 200 S. Palm Canyon Drive at Arenas. There is parking for LULU right behind the restaurant. Reservation under: Lucas. All welcome. I told them 12-15 folks. http://www.lulupalms...rings.com They really have a cool restaurant and a wide menu for the discerning diner! HA. Mitch and I will be working in the Flying Eyes booth on Friday from 10:30-2:30 so stop by to say hi and check out some cool sunglasses with a strap instead of stems for greater comfort with your headset. Saturday noon, meet and greet for CalPilots [ALL welcome] at the interactive pavilion.
Hank Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Ya'll have a good time out there! Since I converted from the clamp-o-matic headset to Halos, my glasses fit just fine. Even my prescription sunglasses with fatter arms than my regular glasses. Guess I'm a Mooniac and a Halo-ac.

Hank Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 Hey, wait a minute! I got my wings before I got my Halo. Does that mean anything? Hope everyone has a great Summit. My baby is in annual right now, plus new tires, tubes and carb OH. With any luck, nothing else will turn up.
mooneygirl Posted October 14, 2012 Author Report Posted October 14, 2012 We had a fun time at AOPA Summit seeing old friends and meeting some new ones... PilotDerek, good to meet you. We saw several folks who we had seen at MAPA convention which was fun. Cannot seem to upload photo. Rats. See Mooney Ambassadors on Facebook I guess
fantom Posted October 14, 2012 Report Posted October 14, 2012 We had a fun time at AOPA Summit.... Jolie, about the only Mooney events you guys don't go to are the ones in Florida Hope to see you and Mitch at Sun & Fun next year, and thanks for all the work you do in support of GA and Mooney
mooneygirl Posted October 14, 2012 Author Report Posted October 14, 2012 Thank you! We would like to make it to more events, but the goal is for Ambassadors across the country to pick an event in their region, communicate, display and have fun.
