I can only speak for myself, but I understand and no worries here. I hope that things pick up for you soon. As a fellow businees owner I understand and while I am blessed with not being hit too hard with these slow economic times (so far)....I know it could all change real quick and I have been there before. I hope there are some matches and someone can get a great deal and you can keep paying those bills... Good Luck!

Thank you for posting your response.  I don't think that there was any problem with the post. I would only suggest that you would post a new topic, in one area, and that would be it.

ArtCraft is a family owned business and a good employer in Santa Maria, CA.  Their work is excellent and they are a pleasure to deal with.

If I had my fuel leak issue fixed, my E model would be there now.  All the best to us business owners is this economy!

                                    Inspection:

Upon arrival, and in the presence of the aircraft owner/authorized agent, aircraft is inspected by authorized personnel to assess general aircraft condition and determine exact scope of work. The inspection will focus on the following:

·                     Windows - cracks, crazing, chips, scratches or other imperfections;

·                     Chrome - leading edge chrome for imperfections or existing damage;

·                     Surface condition - corrosion, skin cracks, dents, loose or missing rivets, metal abrasion, and tow limits for damage.

Inspection report detailing existing aircraft condition is signed off by the inspector and aircraft owner/authorized agent.  Additionally required work is detailed, discussed with owner and approved/declined in writing.  Preventive care suggestions are also noted on report.

Preparation

Trained personnel ensure that our above standard protection of the aircraft is strictly adhered to:

·                     all windows and windshields are covered with a 3 mill high tack protective film, spray masking paper and masking tape, 6 mill aluminum foil, 4 inch 6 mill aluminum tape and 6 mill heavy duty plastic sheeting

·                     composite components,  antennas, struts, polished areas, are protected with the same three layers of protection  as described above;

·                     A protective barrier of aluminum and heavy duty 6mil plastic is applied to tires and landing gear

Mechanical Work

Our on staff A&P will remove flight controls in order to proceed with the refurbishing process. At the end of the paint process flight controls will be balance, re-installed and aircraft will be returned to service. We may need customer to supply information.

Body Work

Any required bodywork, up to a maximum of 10 hours, will be performed at this time and is included in the original price. Any bodywork preformed beyond the 10 hour allowed period will be charged per hour at an hourly rate of $85.00 per hour.

Prepare for Prime & Priming

·                     Aircraft will be aluminum conditioned, etched, alodined, and seam sealed

·                     prior to application of the primer, the aircraft will be wiped down, in order to disinfect the aircraft, with solvent and clean cotton rags

·                     Finally a non sanding corrosion resistant epoxy primer will be applied to the aircraft

Base Color Coat

·                       wiping with tack cloth to remove any lint or dust;

·                       Application of a single overall base color, consisting of three (3) coats of polyurethane paint.  (Each base color coat applied is allowed to dry and inspected for runs, orange peel, pin holes, or bubbles.  If these conditions are discovered areas are corrected prior to application of next coat.)

Trim Color

Base color is allowed to dry completely, then according to customer specifications:

·                     Three color stripe design is laid out;

·                     The registration number is applied in graphic form and will be painted on to the aircraft according to the customer specified paint scheme.

·                     Trim colors are painted.

Sounds great to me.  Wish you were in the southeast.  Good luck on generating some more business.

Mooneys are great flying aircraft even if they are ugly ('70s and '80s paint schemes and colors), but a beautifl flying airplane should be beautiful to look at too.  Hope to get mine done (still has the original 1082 paint) in the near future.
