I doubt there is much usable on this sad Ovation. All they are advertising are the avionics. This is the one where the door popped open and the pilot managed to crash land it into the approach RAIL lights on landing. The bottom of the plane is gone and it is literally bent in a "U" shape.... The NTSB investigated it. In the Accident Report the Pilot said "Hit the perimeter fence, took out seven (7) HIRL landing lights and hit a berm which sheared the landing gear off"..... BTW - this is another "the door popped open" while taking off and in the pattern with a 76 year old pilot/owner flying and a 80 year old CFII in the right seat. Accident Mooney M20R Ovation N62GH, Wednesday 26 July 2023

LANCECASPER Posted 7 hours ago Report Posted 7 hours ago Someone with an early M20M (pre S/N 27-0183) should buy the fiberglass/ultraleather interior from this one.

The NTSB report says that then wings and empennage suffereded significant damage." Back to our recent discussion about doors popping open . . . .

Both are trashed. That was a hard hit. -dan

SuperSmash Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago 7 hours ago, MikeOH said: What's your point? Probably to emphasize how common and easy it is to freak out when a door opens in flight and to make dangerous flight decisions rather than just flying the plane and landing normally, as an open door almost never is an immediate safety of flight issue. 1
skykrawler Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I am not an ageist. I have flown with a 80+ CFII (started flying at the end of WWII). Loved the guy. So much wisdom to impart. On occasions he flew in a questionable manner - no point in providing examples. It happens. Of course I see that in younger pilots - but not so much CFII.
