rturbett Posted August 31 Report Posted August 31 Time to learn something more about my plane- on a return flight today, the fuel pressure indicator went beyond the redline on the high pressure side. tries cycling the boost pump- no change on idle, it dipped into the green but went even higher when I added power on the ground. who has seen this before?- assuming its a transducer- but looking forward to others thoughts Thanks, Rob
N201MKTurbo Posted August 31 Report Posted August 31 Probably a sensor issue. Even if it was true, high fuel pressure isn’t an issue. I asked the engineer from Precision Airmotive how much fuel pressure the servo can tolerate. He said 75 PSI. There really aren’t any failures that will actually make the fuel pressure go high. The fuel pressure is controlled by the spring in the fuel pump. There have been a few people who have had this problem. It was always the sensor. It never hurts to check the wiring and clean the connectors. 2
Rick Junkin Posted August 31 Report Posted August 31 Clean the connection between the transducer and ship wiring first. That's the easiest fix and a high probability cause. 1
rturbett Posted September 1 Author Report Posted September 1 Thanks to all- Looking forward to solving this Rob 1
rturbett Posted September 3 Author Report Posted September 3 Thrilled to let everyone know that we found ( well, really, my mechanic- but give me credit for taking off the cowl..) one of the two wires to the transducer was broken - hidden inside the plastic cover. all fixed! Rob 3
