Wildhorsesracing Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 I think we figured out how the mice got into my plane, someone forgot to tell them not to eat thru the rat sock! Quote
sleepingsquirrel Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 At least he was kept busy eating the rat sock and not urinating on the spar. Quote
jpjp Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 I too had intruders of the mouse variety...just ordered a new set of gear tube boots from eBay a few days ago for around 50 bucks for the pair. Quote
Piloto Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 It is not unusual for pests to make nests inside the wing. Check inside the wing looking for droppins, leaves, fruits and dead animals. First sign of a nest is the smell when you open the wing access panels. If unatended it can create corrosion. On way to keep pests away is to spray corrosion inhibitors inside the wing, they don't like the odor. José Quote

garytex Posted July 14, 2012 Report Posted July 14, 2012 We found mouse nests in wing root area. I am wondering if a good hosing out to wash away mouse urine might not be a good idea? Thanks, Gary Quote
