I’d go for the lynx or the 345. You should think about what future upgrades may be and get something you know will be compatible with potential future plans. 
 

I would NOT stick with the original and a sky beacon.

The KT-76 transponder has a vacuum tube for its transmitter. The tubes are no longer made. Tubes degrade over time, so some day the KT-76 will stop working and cannot be repaired. The modern transponders all have solid state transmitters that should last forever.

I have been very happy with my Lynx 9000. ADBS, weather, winds aloft and Metar info makes it a great and versatile device.
