Steve Dawson Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 I have a 1980 M20 K and I'll need the actual inside cable for my heater. Removing the Turbo Plus intercooler a few times has damaged the end of the cable and it's on the edge of being too short. The outside is fine. Has anyone an idea where to get either a new or aftermarket replacement? Quote
kortopates Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 I first check with McFarlane.i don’t think you can buy just the wire though without the outer sheath but i could be wrong. Look in your IPC for spec.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 You can just buy music wire. The trick is attaching it to knob. It is crimped into the knob. On my old M20F I repaired my boost cable that had the same problem as yours. I carefully cut the crimp off of the knob shaft with a Dremel cut off wheel, not cutting the wire, then putting the wire in a vise and pulling it out of the shaft. Then carefully drilling the wire hole deeper, insert the new wire and crimp. 2 Quote
larryb Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 I used this for the inside of the O2 push-pull cable. They sell all sizes, so measure yours and order appropriately. https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/9495K92 Larry 1 Quote
