Weston Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 I am upgrading some avionics and hoping to get rid of the vacuum pump in my M20C. Has anyone made a setup for the retractable step (with pin/latch/etc) to allow manual let down and retraction?? I think could do OK most of the time with it fixed up, but definitely some passengers where that step is nice! Many thanks. W Quote

Utah20Gflyer Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 I’ve also done the electric conversion after I removed my vacuum system. Works great! Quote
TaildraggerPilot Posted April 14 Report Posted April 14 The electric step mod is fabulous. Mine is actuated by the beacon switch. Be sure to open up the tail access a few times a year to lube the jackscrew and original step bearings / shaft or it may bind up and stretch the new tension spring. I use LPS 1. Quote
