red2000gt Posted February 21 Report Posted February 21 This is my first new thread and glad to be part of this amazing forum. Everyone seems to be great here. I want to say thank you for having me and thank you in advance for any help I can get in locating a prop. I am looking for a 3 blade McCauley prop for an IO360-A3B6D as well as a governor which I believe is the B3D5. I am going to change out the blades to composite Catto blades. Any help would greatly be appreciated. David Moyer Quote

McCauley B3D36C424-E Propeller - 3 Blade Constant speed (Damaged See Details). I assume that you have the McCauley Application guide McCauley Application Guide It lists a few different spinners and the governor that you need also. Quote
red2000gt Posted February 24 Author Report Posted February 24 Thank you. No I didn’t have the guide. Checking out Texas Air Salvage. Quote
red2000gt Posted February 24 Author Report Posted February 24 So, this is my first constant speed prop and I haven’t really priced the replacement blades. I’m trying to decide if I get one with damaged blades the old blades if one or more are in good shape what kind of valve do the blades have. From what I have read the McCauley hubs don’t get damaged from prop strikes it seems. I’m sure that there are extreme cases that they do end up getting damaged. Just weighing my options if I get one without damage and good blades and then sell off the blades? Or get the damaged for less money and possibly get less for the blades. I don’t need the blades as I will be putting custom composite blades for the Velocity it is going on. i appreciate the knowledge and help! David Moyer Quote

David Moyer Expand It sounds like you just need a serviceable hub and spinner plus governor. Do you care if has logs? Reselling used/ potentially prop struck blades sounds like a losing proposition. Have you tried calling any of the larger prop shops to see if they have old hubs/cores? Quote
red2000gt Posted February 24 Author Report Posted February 24 Serviceable hub, spinner and governor is really all I need, but seems like I can get a whole prop for the same or less money after a little bit of searching, but not in a rush. I have a good wait for the prop blades to be made. I have called a few of them and put them on a list to be looking for one. Quote
