That is the way it is in real estate, at least in Maryland.  By law, real estate agents work for the seller, if you contact them to find you a house.

But the broker/has to remember, the buyer will eventually become a seller, so if they are happy with you, they will come back.  And if they are very unhappy, they will let every one know.
