Robert M Posted May 24, 2023 Report Posted May 24, 2023 can anyone tell me what propellers are compatible for the IO-360-A1A?
TheAv8r Posted May 24, 2023 Report Posted May 24, 2023 I'd recommend checking your TCDS, but on my M20E with an IO-360-A1A I have a Hartzell HC-C2YK-1BF 2-blade propeller.
DCarlton Posted May 25, 2023 Report Posted May 25, 2023 I went with the three blade McCauley but the more I've read over the years, they don't seem to make as much technical sense as a two blade with the IO-360... but they look better. Something to discuss with your prop expert.

I'm happy too but I think I've read that the two blade is more efficient and marginally better for speed and the three is marginally better for climb. Don't remember if I seen data. Also seems like I remember the three blade being suboptimal (my words for lack of a better word) from a vibration stand point when paired with a four cylinder engine but don't remember the details on that either. Would probably do the research all over again and go with the best value / cheapest if I needed a prop but I'm very satisfied too. I'm sure there's an expert around here on MS.
