Hey, my mechanic is shaming me in to replacing my baffles. I have no temp issues but the rubber is just thrashed.  Does any body do precut sets for these? I couldn't find any obvious sources.

M20K with the 262 update for the MB engine.

Thanks,

Dear milotron,

if you talk about rubber, you mean the baffle seals. I have never seen precut seals. You can buy „stripes“ in various widths or larger mats e.g. From Aircraft Spruce. Then you can use the old seals as templates for the new ones. It does pay to be super thorough because cooling air is a precious commodity and you don‘t want to waste a single molecule through leaking/warped baffle seals.

Thanks,

There was a member here that is now active on Beech Talk that made baffle sets, not strips. I have no personal experience with them, but they looked good from posted pictures.

Thanks,

Guy Ginbey (Gee-Bee) makes a set for the 252. Don’t buy rolls of baffle material, but die-cute baffle seals. Shoot him an e-mail at n77gb@msn.com or call him at 800-556-3160 and he’ll take care of you. His products are excellent and well worth it.

Thanks,

As @LANCECASPER points out, Guy can do it.  While I have not purchased anything yet, I contacted him recently via PM on BeechTalk, and he said he can do it.  You may have to send in your old baffle seals to be duplicated.  We also have a GeeBee here on MooneySpace, but it's a different person.

I had mine done YEARS ago with some silicone type material.  Although they're a bit dirty and have some scuff marks, they are still in great shape all these years later.  I remember the discussion with the mechanic at the time saying I could pay once now or a couple of times more over the years.

Just curious since the OP is looking for a precut kit:
Are the cowl dimensions, clearances and baffling arraignment on the OP’s Mod Works Trophy 262 conversion exactly the same as a 252?…or just close to the same?

I don't know for sure, but my understanding is the 262 conversion is a full fire wall forward conversion, aside from the 24V electrical system. They are identical so far as I know, and the STC uses all factory parts aside from the cowl flap actuator.
