gwav8or Posted October 14, 2022 Report Posted October 14, 2022 Is there any type of tension adjustment for the propeller control in the cockpit? Kind of like the throttle friction lock? I noticed on a recent flight that the propeller gradually increases in RPM during flight and I was able to watch the prop control knob rotating clockwise. That's obviously not supposed to happen, so what is the fix? Quote
Ragsf15e Posted October 14, 2022 Report Posted October 14, 2022 Mine does that as well. I was told that I would have to replace the cable, but I haven’t. I’ll be interested in the replies. Quote
PT20J Posted October 14, 2022 Report Posted October 14, 2022 Tension should be adjustable. Reach behind the panel and loosen the nut a turn or two, then tighten the nut on the front of the panel to take up the slack. Thanks to @M20Doc for this one! 1 2 Quote

carusoam Posted October 14, 2022 Report Posted October 14, 2022 While you are at it… Check the age and hours on the prop control…. They typically get replaced at engine OH… If your controls have 6k hours on them… they can fail without much warning… It is harder to go around when the prop is stuck at something less than full rpm… PP thoughts for your consideration only… Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
