gmonnig Posted September 23, 2022 Report Posted September 23, 2022 1965 Mooney Brittain autopilot removed from my M20E. This is the complete system with the BI-805 Servo Control valve, 11900-25 Gyro, two aileron servos, two rudder servos, control head with all connectors and switches, DC Adapter that plugs into the control head, all filters and I'm throwing in the DG that worked perfectly with the system. The bellows all work great and do not leak. One of the rudder bellows has a small dry area but it does not need resealing yet. This was the rare version with a dedicated gyro mounted on the rear avionics rack. It tracks two nav sources, tracks a heading bug, or can be just a wing leveller. I had this hooked up to my Garmin 650 and a Narco Nav radio. It was working great but I am in line for the GFC500 so I've decided to remove this system. This is for someone who is looking to keep their Mooney in its true classic form or for someone that has this system already and may need the spare parts. The BI-805 valve alone is a unicorn. I want to sell this as a complete set, so not wanting to break it up. Make me an offer. 1 Quote
Joshua Blackh4t Posted September 23, 2022 Report Posted September 23, 2022 I'd like to make an offer, but I have no idea what a reasonable price is. Can anyone without a vested interest please give an opinion? Also need to talk to my mechanic about installing it and what approvals needed. Quote
0TreeLemur Posted September 23, 2022 Report Posted September 23, 2022 Do you have a working PC system? If so, then for following a magenta line, all you need are the Accutrack & BI-805 valve connected in parallel with the servo vacuum lines coming off your TC. The Accutrak will receive input from your CDI. I follow sale prices for Brittain equipment. Prices I've seen in the past five years for yellow tagged equipment, which is becoming exceedingly rare because original Brittain has been out of business technically since 2019: Accutrak: US$1000 - US$1200 BI-805: US$500-US$1000 For non-yellow tagged equipment I'd reduce prices by 35-50% depending on how badly you want it. Dunno what approvals you need down under. Here we get a STC from the remnants of Brittain by contacting a wonderful woman named Cecilia Henderson. Search for her name here on MS. Also the easiest way to search MS for mere mortals is to use google, with a search string like "Cecilia site:mooneyspace.com". Good luck, mate. 1 Quote

I didn't want to list a price to deter someone from making an offer, and it's only worth what someone wants to pay for it. It sold almost immediately. Woke up this morning and already had a serious inquiry. Took their offer and the prices you listed are accurate, including the reduced rate for non-yellow tag gear. 2 Quote
