Steve65E-NC Posted August 10, 2022 Report Posted August 10, 2022 Some years ago I converted and upgraded my nose and main gear rubber disc count. My 65E service manual (Section 5G) only gives evaluation criteria for the original. Can someone tell, or refer me to, information of evaluation of rubber disc stack for the new count. Quote
Hank Posted August 10, 2022 Report Posted August 10, 2022 It has to do with the gap above the shock discs immediately after jacking the plane off the ground. There's a measurement that I don't recall, but if the disc on top doesn't spin (the tab is blocked when you rotate it), I think that's good enough. Just don't wait a half hour after jacking to check the gap. 1 Quote
Steve65E-NC Posted August 10, 2022 Author Report Posted August 10, 2022 Wonder if a later year E Model Service Manuel would have specific criteria and technique for evaluating. I think mine are still ok but would like to be able to know categorically and maybe even to log the evaluation. Quote
Steve65E-NC Posted August 11, 2022 Author Report Posted August 11, 2022 What model and year is this excerpt from? I somehow doubt it is from an M-18 Mite. Thanks Quote
David Lloyd Posted August 11, 2022 Report Posted August 11, 2022 It's cut off partly but revision date of the manual shown is 8/1/81. It's what you want for your 1965. Funny, the illustration still shows the 5 piece Firestone stack. Quote
