The-sky-captain Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 I've got my plane going to Maxwell (KGGG) either Monday or Tuesday of next week for it's annual migration. A friend of mine based here at KROG has his Bonanza in the avionics shop and is on the fence as to if he can pick me up or not. I would be more than happy to pay fuel costs if someone based here in NWA or around the Longview, TX area would be kind enough to give me a lift. Quote
pjsny78 Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 If u still need a ride please let me know. I dont ask for anything other than lunch and a nice conversation. I'd be more than happy to take you. I have to go there for rigging and maybe an oil change. Quote
The-sky-captain Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 Charley- Yes, I hitched a ride back on Monday from a student pilot doing his x-country with my old IFR instructor. Fixed gear Cessna Cardinal= SLOW pjsny- I plan on going to pick her up next week sometime and I would be happy to buy ya lunch. There are several nice places to eat in Longview close to the airport. Seems kinda far from Long Beach but if you are up for it, I'm in. Just waiting on a call saying it's ready. I'm going to state the obvious now... Don Maxwell is the real deal. While waiting on my ride I got to hang out with the man and pick his brain for several hours. He's 100% customer service oriented and knows these planes inside and out. He's the type of guy you feel very comfortable with, and kind of honored, leaving your plane in his care. This is the first annual I've had him do on my plane in the four years I've owned it, although I have tried to get it to him earlier. Due to getting my engine OH last year and a starter issue the year before I just let the local mech do it. Everything seems to be checking out fine which is a relief due to the stories that I've heard of first annuals at MSC's. It will be a great feeling to have a clean bill of health signed off by Dr. Don. Quote

I had to bring the Mooney to Maxwell a couple of months ago for a gear issue and while there Don mentioned that I had a couple of issues with the rigging. Once corrected I picked up 5-6 knots, I highly recommend it. Quote
