I have been getting great TAS numbers.

I had some engine work done and my prop overhauled and newish governor.  I have always trued around 140 knots and now noticing much higher numbers in the last few months.  152 knots today.

This photo was taken today flying back from Wet Winologists in FXE.  9000 feet and 21 over 2400.  FF about 10.5

I have that LASAR cowling enclosure and really no other speeds mods done to my knowledge.....I have that scimitar prop as well....

Usually a nicely done dynamic prop balance will increase tas 2 or 3 kts.   I bought the balancing equipment for myself and friends.   I got mine down to .00 - .01….   I see similar TAS as you under similar atmosphere.  I’ve got an F model though.  I have to plug in my CAS and OAT separately for some reason though.  My GTN doesn’t automatically pull accurate data from the GAD13 for some reason.

I’m not saying it isn’t true (see what I did there), but those computers are only based on the data available.  IAS (not CAS), pressure, mag heading, etc.  if you gained 12 knots from engine/prop, that’s awesome, but the only way to know for real is to do a 3 way speed run and input the ground speeds to a TAS calc online.  Example… my G5 IAS reads about 153mph next to my original ASI reading 150mph.  Less than 1% difference, awesome!  Unfortunately, inputting either of those into the GTN will show me a TAS ~5kts -7kts faster than real life.  If you want further details on how to do a 3 way speed check, ask. Otherwise, this Scrooge will shut up now and let us Mooniacs enjoy every last knot!

I want the prop you have.   Our C with Hartzell Top Prop trues out at 140-143.   Has for years.  Did that with the original Hartzell prop too before the forced upgrade three years ago.

Didn't do a real speed check since I was IFR, but did find this out yesterday in my C:

7000 msl, 30.11, 68°F

• 21/2500, ROP, 135 mphi, 131 knots groundspeed 
• 22/2400, ROP, 142 mphi, 138 knots groundspeed 

The two were back-to-back, the Airspeed moved visibly, and I gave it 2-3 minutes to stabilize (yes, I releaned after changing powere). Guess I need 8000 msl for 2500, or wherever I can't make 22" anymore. My Performance Tables show a 2mph difference at gross and at 2200 lb.

Yes, I need to make a 3way GPS run, but not with while flying IFR with my wife and luggage.
