Well this last weekend was amazing. I got to take her up flying for about 3 hrs total. The mechanic flew it last Wednesday, I got out there on Friday and went right to the airport. Talked to the mechanic and took my dad flying for the first time he and I had been flying in that airplane in forever! It was amazing. Annual is complete and she is airworthy.  Small issues that need to be dealt with and I plan on putting about 20 hours on her flying to Texas in November. Took up my daughter, wife and future daughter in law over the weekend. No lie I was quite nervous flying around the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I asked my daughter who has only flown in Texas, so where do we land if we have an engine failure, she didn't like the options lol.

Plan A:

Get decent engine monitor… add FF sensor, and Carb temp monitor…

Things my M20C never got…

Only engine trouble I had would have been noticeable… before one exhaust valve stuck open…

Plane had sat for a couple of years, no issues for a couple of hours flying locally…

M20Cs make really good forever planes….

They can be a tough choice for a small family… because the back seaters inevitably grow larger…

We had ours for a decade…. Before getting the big version of the M20C…

Same plane, just more Mooney!

Go M20C!

Best regards,

Today’s big picture and technical skill award is handed to 47U!

Multiple time Eagle Eye award winner… M20Doc…

Nice work 47U!

+1 for getting the seatbelts updated…. We have seen a lot of off field landings over the years….. and loss of control while on the ground…

Best regards,
