Trow28 Posted June 22, 2022 Report Posted June 22, 2022 Is it okay on this board to ask questions about aircraft listings on sites like controller.com and trade-a-plane? I often times have questions about listings, but I'm worried that the owner of the plane might be on here and I want to make sure no-one is putting down a fellow Mooney owner's aircraft.
Igor_U Posted June 22, 2022 Report Posted June 22, 2022 I would think so. You could get the answer from a prospective buyer that was investigating the same plane or maintainer familiar with that plane. Sometimes eve the owner can give useful feedback. 1

The more scoop you can get from someone not attached to the airplane the better off you are. Googling the tail number and serial number is always helpful too. Once you get really interested where you’re ready to commit $100 (with AOPA discount) I would order the Aerospace Reports FAA history on the aircraft. You’ll get it e-mailed to you within 24 hours. (You can get it from the FAA much cheaper but in today’s market by the time you get it, it’s too late.)
carusoam Posted June 22, 2022 Report Posted June 22, 2022 Anything promoting a healthy discussion is OK… Anything that leads to negativity and bashing… is less Ok. People decide to list or not list around here based on conversations they have seen around here…. Think about why you want to discuss a particular plane out in the open…. While asking questions about a particular plane… you are advertising the same plane to other potential buyers…. Kind of a catch 22 situation…. Maybe Catch 23…. Try it, see if it works for you… Best regards, -a- 1
ArtVandelay Posted June 22, 2022 Report Posted June 22, 2022 I would consider finding the owner on MS as a big plus because it shows they’re passionate about their plane, so it’s likely to be well cared for. 1
