MooneyMitch Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I want to briefly share my postive experience with this company. It was a true pleasure working with these folks on a starter issue we recently experienced. Even though our Sky-Tec was a bit out of warranty, these people realize the value of great customer service. On their web site Sky-Tec states their 2 year warranty is "generous", and they do stand behind that statement. Thank you to Rich Chiappe at Sky-Tec. Quote
Seth Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 Glad you had a good experience Mitch. I value MooneySpace for the PIREPS of where to stay away from, positive endorsements, and all the assistance with "odd" issues that come up. THe collective knowledge here is priceless. I've always heard good things about Sky-Tec starters, but hearing 1st hand from a fellow Mooney Pilot about their customer service is well appreciated. It's usually easier to write about dislike vs a positive experience. Thank you. -Seth Quote
PTK Posted January 19, 2012 Report Posted January 19, 2012 I had a lightweight Skytec starter installed a little over a year ago. For some reason and literally the first time I tried to start it after it was installed it wouldn't start. I had the mechanic look at it and determined that the starter had failed. I think it was an installation issue most likely. It took one phone call to Rich at Skytec. He arranged and overnighted another starter and coordinated with the mechanic to remove the first and replace it. No extra cost. Trouble free ever since! I love it and especially the 10 pounds shedded! Their customer service is swift, hassle free and absolutely top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Skytec. Quote
