The -23D is the J model switch, or at least my 81 model anyway. I believe the (D) designates it as dual locking meaning locked in both positions.

There is a breakdown on Honeywell part numbers but I can’t find it now, but it tells you what each designator means

It’s a DPDT switch meaning it’s actually two identical switches side by side, and in my J model only one side of the switch is used, meaning if it gives trouble you should be able to switch to the other side which should have no contact wear as it’s never carried any power and therefore never arced the contacts. I bought a used one from a Member here but really wanted a new switch as this thing is important.

I’m pretty sure the plastic “wheel” on the top of our switches is a Mooney part, the ball end of the switch unscrews and you screw the wheel on, on the switch I bought the ball was secured with red Loctite, so it was a bear to get off, I had to hold the toggle with one pair of vise grips and the ball end with another.

When you get a switch, show this AC to your mechanic if he or she isn’t familiar with it, it should make installation a non issue

Be sure the switch has that MS number, MS means if memory serves Military Standard and is a designation for aircraft parts similar to NAS,that’s why that switch costs about $50 and not $5.

On edit, found it, this link should tell you everything about the switches, the screen shot is of the page showing locking positions and what the D means

These guys could ship a case of landing discs over.   https://avunlimited.co/product/mooney-landing-gear-shock-disk/

Landing gear motors and Egear disconnects for the E and F.   I searched and searched for the spline drive that is used in the E gear cable assembly and could not find it.

Any parts supplier a PMA holder uses has to be regularly visited and inspected etc, if these guys are overseas like I think they are that complicates things and I doubt it would be worth it especially as I believe PMA disks exist

The relay for the F Flaps.   There are two of them.   I have a new one in the box because I found it on a Relay site and bought the last one.   The nice thing about the relay as long as it still works and maybe you just burned the contacts you can use the other side of the contacts which are a mirror image of the other side.

The gear motor relay.   Although pretty sure it is a 4 pole Ford tractor starter motor relay.   Of course I have seen installs with two relays.   Mine only has one,

The rebuild kit for the ignition switch.   I have two of the back plates because this guy was selling them on Ebay for cheap.

Thanks for the updates guys.  I’ll give a McFarlane some of these recommendations, and report back with what I hear.  Part numbers and descriptions help out quite a bit.  @M20Doc provided some. Thank you

If this is your gear motor relay, they are readily available cheap, the AC I keep linking to I used as the authority to install mine, mine used two

Mooney one on the left, new one on the right, I believe they are continuous duty though unlike ones used for Starters. they are like our master relay for instance a starter relay will overheat if left on, but can carry huge current loads.
