Looking at Donaldson Air Maze Spin on oil filter adaptor. 77852 204418-156. Anybody used one of these.  My A/P is lobbying hard for a filter.  Fly safely and have a great weekend!!! My biggest concern is will it fit in the tight space.

I have a filter on the back of my O-360, not sure of the brand. It lays horizontal, and there's just enough room to unscrew it and tilt the top down to remove. Be careful of the vacuum line going to your panel gage!

While you're at it, get a piece of scrap metal (aluminum works, even 3' of drip edge) about 4" wide, bend into a shallow trough and make it fit between the scat hoses and engine accessories, long enough to reach at least 6" beyond the cheek panel. Insert on the right side under the filter and catch everything that drips when you unscrew a horizontal filter full of oil and run it out to a bucket. I posted a PDF of this under Downloads a few years ago, it prevents making a huge mess.

P.S.--I use the CH48-110 filter, change every 50 hours.

That’s a direct replacement for the 77852 lycoming adaptor. The champion CH48110, CH48110-1, and Tempest’s AA48110-2.

not even sure you can buy a straight 110 filter anymore. Design change made them slightly shorter years ago. This going to the -1 & -2 respectfully.

stumbled across this marketing letter from champion.

You're right, CH48110-1. Stupid memory! Bad me!

You'll need a 1" combination wrench to get the filter off, some safety wire and safety wire pliers, too.

And Dow Corning DC-4 to to use as a thin film of the oil filter gasket or you will have a hard time removing the oil filter.  DC-4 is now apparently DUPONT MOLYKOTE® 4 (FORMERLY DOW CORNING DC-4) as shown in the Aircraft Spruce catalog https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/dc4.php?clickkey=4253507

Only use DC-4 on Champion filters, Tempest Spineze filters don’t use lubricant.
