Derek Posted August 9, 2021 Report Posted August 9, 2021 A "Fuel Flow Memory" switch is located on the panel to shut off memory circuit if aircraft is to be stored for long periods of time. How long is too long? I leave mine off. Is it a slow trickle on the battery? (I have a battery minder) but generally, what is a long time for this? For when away from base.
carusoam Posted August 9, 2021 Report Posted August 9, 2021 Could be more than a month…. Depending on what else is staying alive on that circuit… I have a two battery system that one will drain as it supports the stay alive functions of a few devices… When unable to fly…. The BatteryMinder is a pretty good device for this situation… The electronics are very small drains…. Our smallest lightbulb will drain a battery over a night or two… You can always connect an amp meter to the battery and visually see how much drain is occurring… Then compare how many amp-hours are stored in your battery… PP thoughts only, not an electronics engineer… Best regards, -a-
A64Pilot Posted August 9, 2021 Report Posted August 9, 2021 If you choose to store your aircraft for awhile. I’d put a battery minder on it,or disconnect the battery, if it’s a Concorde AGM the self discharge rate is very low so they can be stored for quite a while if disconnected, There may be other sources of dark current
