This is my last ditch effort to get N3510X in the air.   It has been an uphill battle since buying this albatross and I am finally on the home stretch and the AP/IA that was helping has gotten sick.  I m looking for an AP/IA that can travel to finish two things: Finish the annual that was started or start over and second finish the windshield install.  This project was started last November and still sits.   The plane is disassembled for inspection and all panels are off.  The lower windshield cowl is installed and riveted.  The glass needs to be fitted and attached.  All Ad's will need to be cross checked with the FAA database for currency because I don't know what he checked and didn't.

See if @jetdriven has insight on finding a traveling Mooney mechanic to work on a project in North Dakota….

Probably would be a good idea to as @M20Doc the same question…

@Alan Fox is a traveling Mooney mechanic…   Verify that he doesn’t bring the big saw with his tools… :)

Best regards,

I will reach out and check them out.  From what I was told they are part of another company and I would rather cut the plane in half then give them anymore money.  My reasoning is this.  they charged me for an oil cooler that was still under warranty $4000.00.  To inspect my plane after they did an annual three months before, after I installed new bladders and a radio under an AP supervision they charged me $9600.  Told me they had to redo everything but the plane was ready in 4 hours.  Last I checked to removed bladders was 6 hours.  the final straw was they did an fuel pump for me that they asked me to supply which was fine and after picking up the plane I had to manually extend my gear because they left tools in the belly that jammed shorted the electric motor.  They charged me $2900 for that mess.   If they are not associated I will give them a call I totally forgot they were even in business.  I know the Mooney service center under Pieche closed

I hope there’s a decimal typo in that number. A new oil cooler install should be less than $1500. An overhauled unit installed should be well under $1000.

Nope.  that is the cost.  i can show you a stack of receipts that prove the corruption in ND.

You should scan the invoice when you have an opportunity. A brand new high-efficiency oil cooler is going to run about $1300 (without a core return) plus labor for installation.  I’d love to see how they justify $4000.

The Pietsch Brothers are amazing people.

I’ve personally know Warren for 15 years.
They are refocusing their business on building their FBO.

Give them a call. They have been involved with Mooney since the beginning.

Specifically, who have you been working with? Minot Aero Center is the old Pietsch Aircraft R&R and they run the shop and flight school. Avfuel has the FBO now(fuel and hangar).

I guarantee Jay wouldn't treat you like this, not how we do things up here.

Have you ever been to Bismarck?  have you ever dealt with Bismarck aero, Mandan Aviation, Mandan aero,  I have tried them all and every freaking time the plane has come back worse or has had mechanical problems that have forced me to decide to either scrap the plane or fix it to the next level.  Me being as stupid as I could possibly be have always taken the plane to the next level because flying to me is a disease that I just needed in my life.  To throw guarantees is a bit silly because you don't know the history of this plane and the damaged that was done to it in Mandan.  I have spoken to Jay and he is a knowledgeable person and he has respectfully declined looking at this plane because of who worked on it and the damaged he did to several planes.  His explanation was that if he misses something the other mechanic did and a problem arises the FAA would hold him for the fault because he was last to look at it.  The whole issue is the FAA should stick to big planes and stay the hell out of GA.  The federal government trusts me with 80,000lb+ trucks screaming down the interstate for 28 years but because I don't have a certification I can't change a prop or set my gear tension. I call bullshit.  I have trusted the certified I have either gotten completely screwed, had mechanical failure, or a plane completely disassembled and stacked in the middle of a hanger all from the certified.  Until I can find an AP/IA willing to inspect the plane and see that all the sins are gone and have been corrected, repaired, or completely replaced I will fight this or I will sell and the next person will get the headache.  The logs show the history and it shows how pencil whipping occurs it shows what happens when an AP/IA owns the plane and thinks he is above the rules. My pre buy with Bismarck Aero is when my problem started, first by paying for a complete trip all expenses paid to fly a mechanic to Florida to check the plane over to being lied to, then to realizing the issues but knowing that once I bought the plane it would be a cash cow for them.  The only person to blame is me.  I trusted the system and the certification what I failed to do is realize I didn't take into consideration human greed.

Minot Aero Center is in no way connected to any business in Bismarck or Mandan. I am sorry for your troubles, your initial post appeared to implicate Jay's shop which was surprising to me.
