I get this out of either tank routinely, also a few specs in the gas collator.  I pull the gas collator on each tank before the first flight and after fueling.  I haven’t inspected the screen yet and don’t know when or if has ever been done.  I plan to look at it next week.
Engine runs fine (so far). Any thoughts?

Routinely?

Ask the FBO about their fuel supply…

Do other plane owners experience the same thing?

Take a look inside your tanks…

Check your log books…

Is any of the tank sealant sloughing off?

How often does this stuff get stuck in your sump drain, causing it to drip?

Is it collecting on the screen in the fuel sep?

Is it getting past the screen in the fuel sep?

Want to find out what it is before it gets to the fuel injection system…

Collect it on a white piece of paper… take really good pics of it…

Got some homework to do…

How old is the sealant?

Get some good pics inside the tank…

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic…

Best regards,

Old sealant is a pretty good guess.  Run one side low on fuel and look inside the filler.  You can also pull the sump plug and drain the tank.  If there is crud in the tank, this and a quick rinse with some fresh or filtered fuel will help you start with a clean tank to see if it continues.

If it is the sealant breaking down you might have an endless supply of crud.

Mine did that when I bought it, but it cleared up after a period of time, maybe six to nine months.    Do check your downstream filters, though, at the gascolator, fuel pump (if you have a pump filter), and the servo finger filter.
