It's amazing how Youtube is just full of videos of pilots doing reckless and sometimes illegal things.  FAA could have a field day with it.  Does the FAA have a department that investigates what they see on Youtube videos?

I have seen VFR cloud violations, planes landing on displaced thresholds, taxiing onto and taking off from a yellow chevroned end of a runway, descent below minimums on an approach that had visibility and clouds clearly below minimums (even reported so on the ATIS captured in the audio on the video).  And this is all on video posted online for the world to see.  I am amazed that the FAA doesn't at least look into some of these....maybe they do, I don't know because I don't video my flights and I definitely would not video my mistakes...:D

my only rebuttal to videos showing violations would be to give the pilot the benefit when it comes to minimums and cloud clearance (except when stated in audio obviously). I video most of my flights and the videos sometimes make things look a lot closer than they actually are. Now if a video shows going through a cloud when flying VFR or landing as you say on parts of the runway they shouldn't then thats wrong and they shouldn't be doing that.

Some goofiness has been copied and shared here...

With enough people explaining why that is so dangerous...

Each week the same person would make another dangerous video...

If the FAA doesn’t find you... the ground will probably find you first...

Most effective... communicate your thoughts directly to the video artist...

Most people don’t take incriminating pics and videos of themselves... they leave that to their friends and cabin mates...

Find the pics of the five people in a Mooney M20C before the accident flight...  the plane barely got off the ground ...  before settling into the rough off the end of the runway...  a roll of the dice situation for five...

Then... somebody posted the pics...

Be safe...

The FAA responds to citizens making reports, AKA narcs. You can drop a dime on some of these nitwits, probably someone has.  The only enforcement I've seen was a friend who joking claimed to provide flight instruction on Facebook.  If you knew this guy you'd know he was joking, but the FSDO dragged his six in anyway.  He said it was actually a very positive experience.

Yeah.  I know who you are talking about.  He has a very funny channel and a great sense of humor.  Flies out of an airport just north of me.  I was amazed that someone reported him.  If they just watched his channel they would realize that it is all in jest.  He has actually been called in twice I believe.  One other for claims that he was cheating on an FAA written exam by asking for an answer on Facebook.  I link the video here because it is actually quite funny in my opinion.

Met him once, really funny guy.  Didn't know about his second brush with the law, thanks for posting that up.  One thing I really liked about Bryan.  He said at some point that while he flies, he really doesn't have any other hobbies and you can't fly all the time.  So his hobby is making his videos, and they are funny.  I suspect his relationship with the local FSDO will continue, some folks have no sense of humor.  Ask me how I know.

BrYan is becoming a well known aviation humorist...

I became familiar with his art when he did a parody on Mooney ownership...

It is getting harder to get everything done and watch YT...
