PT20J Posted December 18, 2020 Report Posted December 18, 2020 Russia Developing Helicopter UAV To Destroy Other UAVs Air Force Times (12/17) reports that Russia is developing a helicopter UAV “to assist anti-aircraft weapon systems in their counter-UAV mission.” The new UAV will “‘track down small and low-speed enemy drones at low and extremely low altitudes,’ a source in the military-defense complex told the Russian government news agency RIA Novosti this month.” The project, which has been accelerated after the recent Armenian-Azerbaijan conflict, will fill a gap in the country’s military capabilities. Specifics were not provided, but according to the source, it has been under development since November and existing technology is being used to speed up manufacturing. Quote
carusoam Posted December 19, 2020 Report Posted December 19, 2020 An anti drone, drone... Every airport could use one... Except for the final detail in the article... ”However, the biggest problem for Russian drone development is the absence of a quality, locally made engine. “We are very far behind other countries,” Khodaryonok said.” Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
0TreeLemur Posted December 21, 2020 Report Posted December 21, 2020 Why does it weight 2-3 tonnes with a range of only 30 km? The Russian anti-drone helicopter UAV will reportedly spray a burning mixture of jet-fuel and dioxin-laced sticky transformer fluid on unsuspecting drones to punish the enemy in the long term. So Russian. Quote

carusoam Posted December 22, 2020 Report Posted December 22, 2020 “spray a burning mixture of jet-fuel and dioxin-laced sticky transformer fluid“ Is that a weapon, or a cover story for the machine leaking? -a- Quote
