JeromeS Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 Good morning fellow aviators. I am looking to purchase a Mooney and join the Mooney family. The airplane is currently in Virginia and will be base at KSCH. Since I dont have any time in the model and type yet, I'm looking for assistance to bring this M20C home. I have someone who has agreed to pick up and return home anyone who is interested. I can be reached @ 518-300-2049 or salaboy45@yahoo.com Thanks Jerome
hammdo Posted July 20, 2020 Report Posted July 20, 2020 Check out Mooney flyer’s list: https://themooneyflyer.com/cfi.html depending on you location (and Wuhan policy), some will come to you... -Don

carusoam Posted July 21, 2020 Report Posted July 21, 2020 The delivery flight is an excellent opportunity for Transition Training... It often makes sense to use the opportunity to bring the plane home, and get some training on all things Mooney Specific... Does your insurance have a specific requirement? (Hours... dual, solo) do you need insurance? http://www.airnav.com/airport/KSCH/ Best regards, -a- 1
JeromeS Posted July 21, 2020 Author Report Posted July 21, 2020 Just have a quote and they require 5 hrs dual with a CFI before I would be insured for that Mooney. After pre buy inspection, i will have the plane insured.

Pasturepilot Posted July 21, 2020 Report Posted July 21, 2020 (edited) I'd go fly with you, but all you would learn is the bad habits. Oh, edit: You need a CFI for insurance. I wouldn't be any help at all, then. Edited July 21, 2020 by Pasturepilot 1

carusoam Posted July 22, 2020 Report Posted July 22, 2020 Great news... The trip is too short to get all 5 hours... when using a Mooney! I guessed at the departure point... W90... close to Lynchburg... more GA like... The trip is less than a few hours in Mooney time... Best regards, -a-

Me either and none taken. I was not volunteering. I just happen to keep my Mooney in Fredericksburg. I plan on keeping the Rusty Pilot name, but I have been flying regularly again since the purchase of my 1974 C a couple of years ago. I was fortunate to get some great transition training and attend the MAPA program. 1
