Did you do a texture? Look great.

I’ve thought about using the cerakote product.

Are our yokes a magnesium or a strange aluminum alloy?

I don't know what they are made of  but blasting the old stuff off and powder coating seems to work fine.  Smooth finish.  Should be pretty durable from what i've heard of powder coating.

Did you go with someone local? The yokes in mine look similar and I'm thinking about doing the same at annual. Any tips?

They were done by American Eagle in Spring Branch, Texas. It's a mom an pop operation and they are very accomodating. You will be pleasantly surprised at the cost.

Just me, but I would get some matching paint and pull the plastic holding the Mooney logo, mask off the logo and paint the plastic the same color as the yoke.

Yokes are simple to remove.  Just don’t forget the set pin.  It’s the wires that go to the yoke.  They can get complex because the trim switches, autopilot disconnect, ptt etc are most likely soldered and don’t have any cannon connectors, etc.
