carusoam Posted August 5, 2021 Report Posted August 5, 2021 Way to go Charles! Go Long Body! Need help shopping? MS is open 24hrs… And is really good at handing out opinions about anything…. We also have a lot of knowledgable Bravo drivers… Take a look at StevenL’s Ovation too… at least for comparison purposes… Good luck with the next steps… Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

But we’ll see what they decide to do with my plane. It was sucker punched by a runaway Cessna, long story but I’ll do a write up and a video on it when everything is done. I’m going through all the Bravo threads and reminds me how great the MS community is!!! Always ready to help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

carusoam Posted August 5, 2021 Report Posted August 5, 2021 You know you are in it for the long haul… When you know where to find the CME, to check the RBOB futures…. RBOB X2= gas prices around here…. Add another dollar to get avgas price… PP thoughts about commodity pricing only, not a commodities broker… I have also seen the damage an errant C152, in the hands of a new pilot, can do… while still tied down. Visiting Jimmie is an awesome experience… just to see all the inventory that is available… Check to see what he has on hand before going… current market conditions are probably low inventory inducing… Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

carusoam Posted August 5, 2021 Report Posted August 5, 2021 That first transition training flight… When your favorite CFII points at the 200+nmph ground speed on the GPS…. Priceless! I’d like to thank Bob Cabe for making that moment a reality…. If you accidentally come home with a 310hp Acclaim… add a 2k+fpm climb rate to the magic carpet’s skill set…. I constantly thank Byron for being there for that moment… (note: My O is NA, so the nice climb rate is limited by a declining MP…) Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

Sadly this was an experienced pilot that didn’t set the brakes, chalk the wheels but felt he needed to go flying even with a dead battery in his 172xp. Sad times when pilots have a laps in judgment. But such as life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

I’ll just have to white out the 18.2 to look like a 6.2 on the fuel flow… The TKS will help forgetting too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
carusoam Posted August 5, 2021 Report Posted August 5, 2021 Most every day is a sunny day for Bravo pilots… Just takes a little time to get above the cloud coverage… -a- 1 Quote

Made the thought of a needed overhaul disappear 1 Quote
tls pilot Posted August 5, 2021 Report Posted August 5, 2021 (edited) To Bravowhiskey From the nice pic, it appears your TIT is 1660 or 1680?! CHT from those we can see above 400’ Cannot see what your altitude is in the photo? The experts and my operations having owned a TLS/Bravo since 1993, is to keep TIT around 1610, open the cowl flaps to help cool the CHTs (especially in Flight levels) Just trying to assist, the exhaust on this engine is expensive and a pain to replace. and we all know how expensive cylinders are, IF you can find them.... BravoWhiskey Posted August 5, 2021 Report Posted August 5, 2021 Loud and clear! I just got the overhaul back after 6 months. Being hung now. I bought the plane with intent of going right in for an overhaul. If i recall i was coming out of the climb and had to get a pic of the ground speed. Dialed it back after that. But yes my intent is to keep those temps in check and not run it at 32/3400 either... altitude was low here. I dont remember exactly where but somewhere between 8 and 11k. 1 Quote
