Guest Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) I’m looking for some help finding an STC for a fellow pilot who is a paraplegic. Apparently some have existed at some point but he is having trouble locating it. Anyone have any leads. Clarence Edited November 4, 2018 by M20Doc Quote
bonal Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 Look up operation prop. AOPA did a feature on a fellow that just got his CFI using their hand control products in this weeks episode of AOPA live. 1 Quote
Marauder Posted November 4, 2018 Report Posted November 4, 2018 This topic reminds me of a WWII vet who lost his right arm flying a Lightning in battle. He was based at an airport near me and would fly his Comanche to our airport for fuel. Always a pleasure to meet him on the ramp. A man who’s handicap was anything but. See newly rated CFI Quincy Carr at around 3:00 minutes into the video. There is also a short piece by the controls guys there. Inspiring. -a- Quote

We'll documented account of his exploits that included being shot down and becoming a prisoner of war. 1 Quote
thinwing Posted November 5, 2018 Report Posted November 5, 2018 The Luftwaffe and RAF cooperated in supplying him with a new prosthetic leg after one was damaged during a bailout over German occupied France. They air dropped a new one which he promptly used to attempt escape. He did this so many times, the Germans started taking his prosthetic legs from him every night 1 Quote
